Default email question - received using:

Please Login to Remove!

i have 2 questions just to help me understand the works of my 7290.

i have 3 emails accounts setup via bis tmobile, when i open an email and scroll all the way to the top, in the email it says received using [email address], mean while the email was sent to [email address].

basically this is what im asking:

if mail is sent to [email address], does bis use [email address] to get my message???
pls elaborate in detail... thx

2nd question:

if i go to option in my mail box, than to email reconciliation the first line says: message services, than the option has one of my email accounts listed.
what exactly is this for?

thx in advance

I can answer the second part easily enough. The first part will require thought, but it's Friday afternoon, so I'm not in that business.

If you highlight the mail account listed beside message services and hit then you can choose reconciliation behavior for each account integrated with BIS in turn.

Now that I think of it, this maybe something that only showed up with BIS 2.0, but my memory isn't too clear on the matter.

For the first question, I don't think that's ever happened on my BB. The receiving account is always the one that the message was sent to. This sounds like something that would happen if you were forwarding one email account to another, but I don't think that's what you're doing, is it?

No this is not what I'm doing. No forwarding whatsoever. If anyone has the answer to my 1st question pls chime in. Maybe this is why I'm getting dupelicate emails from one of my accounts?? Thx

Now you mention duplicates in one account. Do the ones that come in with the wrong acct listed all have a duplicate sent to the right acct also? If so, someone may be Bcc'ing the second acct.

Hope this helps.

Yes this is true. The duplicate come from the correct account, and it comes directed to me from the other account.. When u speak of 'someone', who might that someone be??

so your getting the sam eemamil in the correcct account but then it duplicates to your other...

sounds like a forwarding rule to me - or one accounts an alias of the other

If it's not a forwarding issue as BERducky said then it has to be the sender(s) of the emails tha are duplicated.

Hope this helps.

Rcbjr, I see what your saying but the senders are not sending me dupes, this I'm sure of.. Its something else..
I don't want to loose focus.. I still need my 1st question answered, maybe this is the issue. I have my mail set-up pretty straight forard, but there is something wrong somewhere..

the answer to your first question is now - BIS 2.0 uses each service book to grab email from that particular account only - no way to set it up any other way except by forwarding your email to one address and having that service book grab em

even then though, the BIS is still just technically grabbing email from the original email account

i stand by originall thought of a forwarding rule

log in to your online [email address] account and make sure you don't have any settings enable to grab email from your [email address] account - alot of POP accoutns will let you do this

also, check your [email address] account - make sure there's no rule set to forward emal to your [email address] - possibly on the server

if you have checked and double checked on this and there is no forwarding rule only other explination i can think of is that you [email address] account is just an alias for your [email address] - and not actually a seperate email account (though if this is true i'm shocked you managed to add both as normally BIS catches this)

Thx ber, there are no fowarding setup. No alias or nothing. Today mail seems to be coming from the right places, no dupes or nothing, hmm strange.
