To be fair, I read in another thread that this feature will probably go away 30 days after one updates to the new BIS, leaving one's blackberry.net address and any other address they have set up as the choices for Sent From.
I just testing sending an email using the Web Client. Here are the results:

- email gets sent on the BB (checkmark)
- seconds later it gets marked with a red X
- message status: unable to look up the user info in database
- message is never sent/received

Are you using Verizon?

With 2.0 the webclient [cmime] is only still arond so that you can reply to emails that you received before you upgraded...this will only be around for 30 days after you upgrade

You should not be able to send new messages using it...you now have the new service books to send new messages with

Interesting, whsbuss. As a test before I posted this, I sent an e-mail via my BB using Web Client as the Sent From to my Yahoo address. The e-mail sent and came through with no problems.

Yes, I am on VZW. BB 7250 running OS 4.0.0.204.

This is very interesting.

As a long time user of yahoo mail, BIS 2.0 intergration with yahoo is the best thing to happen to my blackberry service. I can now use my yahoo account without having to forward my emails directly to my blackberry and live without spam filtering that yahoo provides.

I have already deleted all other email service books from my blackberry including the default ($%&!@@vzw.blackberry.net) and the webclient service book.

Maybe its because I'm running OS 4.1.286 but it fails here.

Will the Yahoo/BIS relationship work if I upgrade to a personal address from Yahoo? In other words, I wonder if reconciliation will be immediate with a personal address from Yahoo like it is with the regular Yahoo address.

Not sure what you mean by personal address from Yahoo.

You can pay for your own domain name and set e-mail accounts with your domain name, all on the Yahoo system. Here's the link. So I'm assuming the benefits of the Yahoo/BIS relationship would carry over to the personal address.

UPDATE: I found the answer. Apparently mail delivered to your Yahoo Personal address is delivered to your regular Yahoo inbox, so yes, you would get the BIS benefit while not having to use the Yahoo domain name. Kinda cool. I'm thinking about doing that.

Yep. Looks like a viable option.

Yes this will work with yahoo mail+ or yahoo small biz mail with your own domain name. Instant email.

I was having the same address problem. Last night, I finally set up my BIS so instead of my Yahoo being forwarded to my Verizon address, the account was set up through the BIS. As soon as I did that, the address error was showing up when I was replying to some messages (not all of them). I have not found a solution to this. If anyone knows how to solve this problem, It would be most appreciatied!

I believe your problem is related to domain name authenication. I had the same problem when I first switched over to BIS 2.0 w/ yahoo.

I started a new post.
http://www.blackberryforums.com/showthread.php?t=34627

The other postings don't seem to offer any suggestions. They simply responded that they don't have any issues. But basically your problem is due to the email servers thinking your blackberry emails are coming from a spoofed account and therefore are rejected.
