I'm a small business owner in Toronto and I ditched blackberry in August 2011 for an LG android device. x

I was tired of the limited functionality, apps and all the other cool toys that other smart phones had. Including the bigger screen. xI also was displeased at the quility of my blackberry's xwhich always felt like they were made by Fisher Price when compared with any iPhone. xMy biggest concern was always typing on a keyboardless phone.

My return started with the iPad. xI finally caved and bought an ipad and the need for all the additional silly apps on my cellphone vanished. xI began focusing on why my android was so mind numbingly unreliable. xI switched to android with two if my employees and we all experienced the same glitches and constant crashing.x

Earlier this week, one of my clients came to my office with her new 9900. xI realized how much I missed the keyboard and the reliability of blackberry mail. xThat night, I pulled my old blackberry out of its box, reinstalled all my data and I have never been so relieved. xThe fact that the battery isn't dead within 20 minutes is an amazingly simple advantage.

I truly hope blackberry stays the course and begins to refocus on business and corporate use. x I think there are a number of people that will be returning to rim in the near future.x

xI just received a call, whilst typing this message from my closest friend, that he just ordered a 9900 and is ditching his droid razr.

What's up with all of the x's in your post?

The OP used a cut/paste from a text/word type program. The forum somtimes inserts odd characters when pasted to the reply box.

Like this xxx8220;whatxxx8217;s upxxx8221;

some just insert the x's some insert the ascii character code also.

why use cut and paste from a different app? just curious.

Usually for the spell correction. For some reason the special characters like
" , ' and others cause issues with the forum. The example i used was from Microsoft Word.

I have just ditched the iphone I had for 6 months after being pestered to try one - shoulda never left my BB - glad to be back - will never be unfaithful again. Soooo nice to have a proper grown up phone again

I find it easier to use FireFox which has a spell check feature built into the browser.

Unfortunately the cut and paste behaviour makes it difficult to share code samples in the developer area.

That's why they have the [code] tags.

Code tags don't help when you cut and past code into the forum. At least not from either BlackBerry IDE. At least not the last time I tried.

I've been through the same thing with all the major OS's from BB 7700 to iPhone 3G and 3Gs then to the WMP7 with the Samsung Omnia 7, then off to Android with HTC Wildfire, Samsung Galaxy Tab and Orange San Francisco and finally back to the BB Curve 9360.

The best out of that lot is WMP7 apart from the BlackBerry's in my opinion as the Omnia 7 was a good phone, Nice Fluid OS, I just got it to early (Before Mango came out). The downside was the lack of apps and a decent keyboard (I hate on screen keyboards) but the PIM features was second to none and I think the best until the Playbook OS2 came out on any device.

The main thing I like about the BB is the fact it has only crashed once in 7 years of using them (On the latest BB Curve 9360 and that was because of an App that didn't work properly, uninstalled it and it was fine afterwards) and the keyboard, which is amazing and better than any on screen keyboards even with haptic feedback turned on.

I also like the way that the BB Smartphone and the Playbook work well together through bridge. Of course we can't also forget the security that BlackBerry is renowned for (Unless you are BIS in India then the Indian Government can spy on you).

I'm one of those mac idiots who tells everyone how amazing Apple is, and phone would be great if it had a damn keyboard. What did you dislike about Iphone?

My only gripe is not being able to truly delete messages from Gmail when set up as an Exchange account.

The direction Apple was taking it, The Keyboard and the Battery Life sucked. But my biggest gripe was the bloatware that is iTunes, I hate that product.

Let's hope that as more and more people try to use non BlackBerry devices, especially in business settings, they will also return to RIM. You aren't alone, a marketing firm's blog addressed this as well. I tried to post the link but could not because I'm new on this forum. Actually you can, it's just a setting in Gmail, otherwise everything gets "archived". Or just use the native Gmail app in iOS, a much nicer email client than the awful iphone one.

So what's the setting? I tried the app when it came out and it ate the battery something fierce. Has it improved?
