Default Persistent trouble when trying to 'sync' iTunes (music) with my Blackberry

Please Login to Remove!

When I connect my blackberry via the USB cord, Blackberry Desktop Manager opens (as I should do) YET a window shortly pops up saying;

'This BlackBerry® device requires mass storage mode to sync your music files. Turn it on in your device options, reconnect your device and try again to sync with your media card.'

So, I do as advised. I open my device options on my Blackberry and apply mass storage mode. I have tried several times and the window persists to appear stating the above...feel like I'm hitting a brick-wall!

Help!

I've gone (as advised): Options>Media Card>...then presented with the following options;

Media Card Support - On/Off
Encryption Mode - None/Device/Security Password/ Security Password & Device
Encrypt Media Files - No/Yes
Mass Storage Mode Support - On/Off
Auto Enable Mass Storage Mode When Connected - Yes/No
Safely remove on battery door removal - Yes/No

So no mention of 'Memory' !!...???

(Merry Christmas)

Thanks, yet whats described on the link you prescribed earlier - there does not appear to be the ability to change the Media Transfer Protocol (MTP) in fact it doesn't (as above) appear to exist!

"Workaround
If the MTP enabled BlackBerry smartphone is not detected by the BlackBerry Desktop Software for Mac, perform the following steps:

Disconnect the BlackBerry smartphone from the Mac.
On the BlackBerry smartphone, navigate to Options > Memory.
Change the Media Transfer Protocol (MTP) option to Off.
Press the menu key, and Save the changes.
Connect the BlackBerry smartphone to the Mac"

In reply to the last;

I have selected the 'Mass Storage Mode Support' option to 'On' and, as advised reconnected my device etc...now several times. Yet, the same problem exists - I (we) come round in full circle to:

'This BlackBerry® device requires mass storage mode to sync your music files. Turn it on in your device options, reconnect your device and try again to sync with your media card.'

Like I said, I have done so...but to no avail!

Perhaps you need to delete the system and user cache files (as you may have remnant settings on your mac. get OnyX to accomplish this task unless you want to perform the ops using terminal.

Why would this be the proper setting when every instruction from Blackberry says to have the setting to be "ON" ? Can they actually be that totally wrong?
(not that it Could be the first time, but this has been an issue for quite a long time now - Document KB19717 starts to address the issue, but not for Mac OS yet.)
