Please Login to Remove!

i have a 8320 without data plan on rogers network in canada. i also have a linksys wrt54gs router at home. for some reason my 8320 cannot detect the router when i do a scan. the router has wpa personal and mac filtering off.

my laptop an anyone that brings their laptop to my ouse can detect and use the wifi easily so im not sure why the 8320 cant.

Did you check to see if the wireless SSID broadcast is enabled?
Router GUI, Wireless Settings tab.

Is WiFi turned on? I am not kidding - this just came up in a thread yesterday. WiFi was not turned on in the Manage Connections section.

something tells me its got something to do with the router settings, cuz i can detect other routers, just not my WRT54GS. i've detected other routers including linksys when i was out or at my friends house. but i know for sure the wrt54gs is compatible with blackberry cuz lots of people use it and recommend it. i really wanna figure this out.

What about saving your current router configuration, then resetting it to the defaults and then trying again? Might be worth a try.

Hmmmm, pretty weird. Try to pull the battery on your BB and try jeremykitching's advice after that.

Default problem fixed.. thx to all

i backed up my router settings, reset the router, then did a bettery pull on the 8320 and it detected the router just fine. it connected and all is well.

so after the router was reset i didn't modify any settings in the router and everything worked fine. just to test something i restored the backup of my earlier settings and once i did that the phone couldn't detect the router again. so i guess there was some setting i had in the router before that was causing the issue.

so now im gonna reset the router again and then start from fresh with blank settings and configure it just the way i like it.

thx for all the help. if while im configuring the router i realize that theres one particular setting that causes the issue i will post it so others will know.
