How can I go about getting better icons to use? The icons that come with the Bold are not very good, I am trying to orginize my desktop but I would like a better choice of icons.

Try a different theme. There's hundreds of them out there to choose from.
Look in the Media section of this site.

Is there a way to pick from more icons without switching my theme? Or can I make my own icons and upload them to my BB. I like my theme but I need more options when it comes to icons.

No, you can't modify existing themes.

Here's how to add your own icons

This can all be done on the phone itself and no need to connect it to the computer (unless you don't have a data plan I suppose)

1. Download BBFileScout - BBFileScout Download [File Manager for BlackBerry® Devices]
2. Download the folder_icons.zip to your phone:
3. folder_icons.zip
4. when it asks you where to save it, navigate to: /system/samples/folder icons/ ==> select folder01.png.rem now change the name of the file name to folder_icons.zip and select save
5. Run BBFileScout go to -> Menu -> Options and ensure these are checked:
   • Show hidden files & directories
   • Allow editing in SimpleTextViewer
   • Use the BBFileScout build-in text viewer/editor
   • Use the BBFileScout build-in ZIP handler
   • Force BB media content handler for images, audio & video files
6. Menu -> Save settings
7. navigate to this path SYSTEM -> SAMPLES -> FOLDER ICONS
8. you should see the folder_icons.zip in the file list of folder##.png
9. click / select that file (ie. press the trackball down) and you will be prompted to: " Extract 'folder_icons.zip' in 'system/samples/folder icons/' ? "
10. Select OK then delete the folder_icons.zip file and then exit out of BBFileScout
11. Go to the Home Screen and Add a Folder change the icon of the folder and you should see 6 new icons when you scroll to the right!!!!
12. Finally, ENJOY!!!
