Default Exchange being SP'd, will BES be OK?

Please Login to Remove!

Afternoon All,

Apologies for the blandness of the question, I've got an 'entity' that is upgrading their Exchange environment shortly and having only just come in to the discussion, I realise no-one has considered any effect whatsoever on their BES... Hence the question, I've spent a short amount of time looking around but I'm unable to find the answer in a timely manner.

Their environment is Exchange 2007 SP1 and BES 4.1.7 (Bundle 27). They are planning to upgrade to Exchange 2007 SP3. Apart from the possibly required BES reboot, are we likely to see any other BES issues with this?

They're running a multi-server environment in Exchange due to size, so the servers are being SP'd over two days. Any caveats to look for at all?

While I'm on, is there a central resource anywhere for quick reference to various upgrade paths between and/or BES and Exchange?

Many thanks for your help in advance.

BES will need to be turned off while they do it and you need to upgrade the BES CDO version before turning on BES again or calendar will not sync.

Many thanks, knottyrope, much appreciated.

So the server will need to be taken down for the two day duration, and only reintroduced when the CDO.dll has been matched to the new one on Exchange?

Not as bad as it might have been.
