You probably have a drive letter conflict in Windows.
Go into Disk Management within Computer Management and check.

i posted this over at Crackberry. .....sounds like the same issue....

This isnt my first BB but i'm no expert either. I got my Bold on Monday and had issues getting the media card i took out of my curve to show up in my computer over USB from the Bold. From my curve i'd plug in over usb and the card would show up as a drive on my computer. On the Bold it just wouldnt.

So here is what i did to finally fix it. It took several steps since i had no driver on my work computer for it (although my Curve worked flawless) so i had to install the driver first. I went to device mngr on my computer and saw when the blackberry was plugged it it had no driver.

Install Driver:
1. went to Tronyx's site:
hookedontronyx.com/6.htm
2. Hosted Files -> Drivers then downloaded the English USB/Modem Drivers
3. ran the install file and rebooted.
4. got into Device Mngr again with my Bold plugged in over USB and saw it finally had a driver assigned (no yellow question mark or red exclamation mark)

so that is was done, i was still not able to see my media card over the USB but here is my second step....

1. went to Pinstack and signed up and downloaded the BB Storage Activation File from site: forums.pinstack.com/showthread.php?t=96938
2. Extract all files to your desktop
3. Plug in your BB (DO NOT start desktop manager)
4. Double click on the "BB storage Activation new.bat" file
5. A Window DOS box will pop up and ask for your BB password. Enter your password if you have one enabled. If not it wont ask you. A bunch of stuff will happen and then it will ask you to press any key. A few more things will happen and then the same process will occur again. I'm sure one time is good enough but i did it a few times.
6. I noticed my BB had turned off during the process so it seems that was normal as my phone is not bricked.
7. i unplugged my BB from the USB, pulled the battery and rebooted it.
8. reboot your PC as well.

After both rebooted i plugged in my BB over USB and this time the Add Hardware found both internal and media card storage and mapped them both as removable drives like it should be. Worked like a charm. I hope if anyone tries this it helps. As stated in other posts i'm just trying to help. There's always a risk of bricking your phone so do at your own risk. But it seemed to work out for me. Good Luck!

The only reason you need this is if you tried to hack your BlackBerry using software illegally obtained from RIM.

not true,
i got my Bold a week ago refurb'd. The only thing i did was upload OS .247. I had the same exact issue with mine (or is sounds the same). After this i was able to see both internal and media card storage. from what i've seen on other forums this seems to be an issue with Bolds recently. Not that i would know for sure since i just had mine a week ago but in the two years i've had my Curve this has never happened.

i have heard that refurbs from at&t are being sent out with the mass storage mode, bascially missing and the batch file has restored the function.

Some would chastise others for the actions to liberate the Bold from the constraints of a carriers need to throttle a network. We would be the wiser to help and understand than condemn and ridicule. I do have many Bolds unbranded and others which are not. In fact a few have come from ATT refurbed with issues accessing Mass Storage. I respect the help offered here and other places but have come to recognize knowledge is not always true but the judgemental blow hards are always right.

I had a solution for that. Contact blackberry support thru ATT, you basically get a case number, and will call 877 or 866 number with that case number, they will send you 2 files, u will install them in ur blackberry while it is connected via cable. and few min later ta daaaaaaaa....
Done deal.

that was the short version, make sure to contact ATT tech support tier 3 or data people yo obtain the case number first and talk to bb people. ask for haha...exe file, they will know whats going on..
take care
