Have you already looked to make sure it isn't accidently hidden, or accidently moved into a folder?

I'm not familiar with what you are looking at. Could be I'm just behind the curve. But is this perhaps a matter with the theme you are using versus a theme you were using before?

I don't know. As I say, I'm behind the curve with 8820/4.5.0.139. You may be just dealing with a fact of life with the new OS. See what others say. Or look for aftermarket themes. But then I really don't know.

I have .230 and still have the folder. When you installed os5, did you upgrade or do a clean install? I did a 4.7 to 5.0.0.230 upgrade and it carried over. On my gf's curve 2 her native os5 doesn't have the icon and I created one for her just like you - it doesn't have the same effect though as what we are accustomed to. I'm thinking perhaps the new os5 doesn't include this icon any longer.

i upgraded from 4.7 like you did but the icon did not carry over, i prefer how the old icon worked but i guess i just have to deal with it until a official release comes out, i guess its the price i pay to run 5.0 :(

I would bet that it is hidden and what i would do is show all icons check all folders till you find it, as a second thing is i woud try another theme.

When I went to OS 5 mine went away as well. One of the reasons I went back to 4.7. It was not hidden they broke them up individually instead of being lumped together.

Create new folder called Media. Move all the stuff you want in there. Pictures, Ringtones, Videos, etc. Done.

Well, there are a few words in English in your post, so I think that I can decipher it a little bit.
But I'm wondering how this is different from creating a folder, naming it Media, selecting the Media Icon for the folder, and moving the individual icons into that folder.
Doing that (as suggested above) offers the same functionality.

well for one, id rather have one icon that does what it should and not having a folder with like 6 icons, and i also believe that the ease of the media browser thing was simpler, once you where in it you could back out and switch to different things yes the folder way is similar but you back out to the folder then click on a different icon then go into that app, maybe i was just used to having the one icon oh well any other users that lost it feel the same way?

But the Media Icon is just specialized folder. ???

Ok. Whatever. I'm lost.
Step 1: Create a new Folder
Step 2: Name it Media
Step 3: Select the MEDIA icon as the icon for the folder
Step 4. MOVE the Music, Videos, Pictures, Ringtones, VoiceNotes icons into the folder you just created.
It's the SAME THING. All the icons in in the same place. ???
