Default Cannot Install BES

Please Login to Remove!

This is my first post....great site...
I am unable to install BES v2.2 or v4 (i.e. a clean install) on Windows 2000 Server (SP4). I have followed the instructions on performing a clean uninstall for BES\Lotus domino several times but the problems remain when trying to install v2.2 or v4. As soon as you select the setup.exe it immediately throws me out with the message "SetUp Aborted". Please note I have copied the setup files over to the Hard Disk from the original CD provided to us from Vodafone and also tried installing from CD but I still have problems. We have successfully installed V2.2. and V4 on this test server (Lotus Domino R654) in the past without problems, i've switched of services, virus scanners, removed registry entries for blackberry/rim, but it doesn't work..was thinking its the installer, but this can't be as other apps install OK...however if I use V2.2sp2 it goes through the installation process...but when its about to install files it again says 'Setup Aborted.' At wits end with this, so any advice would be much appreciated........ :

You might want to post your question in the BES Admin Corner Forum. Might get more/faster answers there.

That's very weird man! Just a silly statement....what sort of permissions does the account you are using have on the box?
It sounds like some other OS system file may be missing, maybe because of the registry hacking or because of the removal of the previous BES installs.
Short of re-installing the OS, I would do an OS repair (boot from OS CD) or reapply the SP4.
