Default Red X error

Please Login to Remove!

We are running BES 3.6 on a Win 2k server. We are running Exchange 5.5.
We have about 150 BB users. The users are starting to see a Red X when trying to send emails. They can still receive emails. I am wondering does this mean we need to upgrade to BES 4.0? But in the mean time how do we resolve the problem.

Thanks, in advance.

They may have lost their encryption key. Have them connect the BB, open Desktop Manager / Redirector settings / Security and generate a new encryption key.

Default Red X error

Thanks, what would cause several users to start losing their encryption?

This has been going on for several weeks. The path we have taken so far is to remove the user(s) from the BES and then add them again. Which seems to work. I guess we are just looking for what is causing this so we can correct.

Thanks.

From a long, long time ago, I remember something about after the first thirty days, the encryption key may be lost if the users do not cradle the device with Desktop Manager running. Not 100% sure. But I am pretty sure....
Only have to do this once.

Question

I would be interested in finding this resolution as well.
My company has deployed a number of these devices recently and seem to be having alot of syncing issue. Mainly due to a server migration with a new SRP key.
Thanks for any help.

If you get a new SRP key and you move people to the new server you need to delete all the Desktop Service Books on the handhelds and get them sent new ones from the new server. If they have the old SRP you aren't gonna sync very well...

Default Same ISSUE on Domino

We too are having similar issues. We are running 2.2 sp2a for Domino Weird part here is it normally starts at 8:00pm thru 12:00am though sometimes runs into mornings. NO backups are occurring nor are there any maintenance programs running.

The error message we get when opening the red x says "Transaction Error- timeout". The other odd thing is the message typically gets delivered.

Contacted Rim who recommended upgrading to latest sp 6a. Have completed the update and will wait for more.
