Default Replacement Case Parts

Please Login to Remove!

I dropped my BB last night and at first thought the case had absorbed the damage. Later in the evening I noticed 2 small scratches on the side rails of the case. I was able to clean the scratches and buff them down so you can't really feel them anymore. But I was wondering if there is a source for OEM BB parts.

Also, I already looked over the disassembly guide. Do the torx screws have to come out to get the side rails off?

EDIT:

I have since did some more searching and found replacement rails. Now I wonder if anyone has any experience with the company, and their quality. Also, my original disassembly question stands.

bb-8800-05 Blackberry 8800/8830 OEM chrome silver side rails- HTC, Samsung, 3G, SonyEricsson, Sony, BlackBerry, Accessories Store, Motorola, B

A friend of mine purchased from them (on my recommendation) and he reported good service.

Yes, it's easier to use the pry tool to remove the rails. They have clips on the bottom, but use double-sided tape at the top. You can get a Torx set with multiple tips from Home Depot for under $10. IT has the smaller T4 or 5 size needed for the 8830.

BTW - I bought and installed my black and very readable keyboard from CN.

What were shipping costs and shipping turn around times like? I'm debating getting just the rails now, or holding off and convincing my GF to get me the whole black case kit for my birthday (in about 2 months).

It was $5 for airmail and arrived within a week.
