Default Anybody know about BB and VPN?

Please Login to Remove!

I was all set to buy my first BB. I work off-site from my company and manage my email through a secure VPN server. Since my laptop is company-owned (the one on which I would sync the BB) I thought I'd better ask if I could load the BB software to view my email when on the road (rather than dragging out my laptop in every airport and coffee shop). I was told a flat no, that the VPN server required an expensive thingy-majig to support BB and the company wasn't prepared to buy and install said thingy.

Dang it! I really want the BB!

I'm a new hire (two months in) and don't want to stir a lot of stuff with the IT folks, but is this worth pursuing? Should I push it? I don't mind being a trailblazer, but I need to know the trail is worth blazing.

Thanks in advance for the feedback!

can you forward your messages? If so you can use a bb.
I too am stuck with issues, but the delegate in groupwise works fine for me...it takes a little getting used to, a little extra work but it was well worth it.

Hmmm, there's still hope??? :D

Problem is, I don't know how to forward my email, although I could probably figure it out. I operate on sbc yahoo.

Just know your companies policies. Many companies do not permit employees to forward mail for security reasons.

Yahoo mail has options that allow for forwarding or pop.

On my yahoo account i use pop, it uses yahoo spamguard, and its just my ham radio and hobby mail account. No need to "have it now"

I'm on a locked down machine that wont allow access to yahoo right now so I cant look it up, but I'm sure you can find it.
