I'll continue to own my Curve for another 6 months or so. The price should come down by then, but who knows. All of us would like to pay as little as possible, but whoever buys it first is paying a premium, as most roll outs have become. Hang in there!

Default So what !!!

I paid $799 for mine unlocked and before ATT offered it.
I got it branded Rogers (Canadian)
I feel it worth it, and I sold my iPhone 1.0 for $2.99 to offset the cost.
There is a price to pay for cutting edge technology, and those that can't afford it shall just wait and be a step behind the wave of technology. I for one, feel the unlocked is a good buy because I am not stuck with ATT for another 2 or 3 years and can move to Verizon for the Storm if I desire and when I desire. Afterall people, come on, it is only money. Enjoy the excitement of the newness and the kewlness of the technology and quit whinning and taking the joy out of owning this long awaited phone.
I agree with Crisambo. Well said !!

Yes, for me that would be pretty much it. Having used the first gen iphone, I had no problems with the lack of keyboard, that many BB users can't live without. The built in ipod was nice, videos looked great on that big screen and of course, the browser. That said, I still find the BB a little more functional for me, but if RIM were to somehow get bought up by M$ and put out to pasture, I could return to the iphone with very little difficulty.

I'm kinda ticked at the pricing. Especially since I just lost my job...
That was bad intell. AT&T is getting the Javelin and I'm guessing probably before TMO.

RedBxtr -
I agree with you partially there – if you have been waiting for this phone forever and have the means to pay $399 (or $799) then you ought to purchase it now. But the fact that many are willing to wait before taking the plunge – both BB enthusiasts and consumers - goes to show how RIM screwed up a really nice opportunity! They could have generated an IPhone like hype with this phone but instead mucked it up with delayed launch dates and rather lackluster marketing, imo. Now you have folks debating between this and the IPhone!

I bet we would see a price drop before the holiday season is over... how significant a drop remains to be seen ...and that I think is the reason why many are still "undecided"

Default Wirefly has it for $199 for new customers

Guys, you've got to check out Wirefly! They have the Bold for $199 for new customers! Their list price is $299 less $100 rebate, compared to AT&T's own pricing of $399 less $100 rebate. I seriously thought it was a typo, but it looks like it's for real.

Has anyone ever ordered from Wirefly? How was the experience, set up, etc.?

my last 2 contracts were done thru Wirefly. As a T-Mobile customer first and then later as a Cingular customer. Great deals and smooth transaction. The phones arrived in 2 days and had no issues whatsoever.

OK, so let me ask you this. As someone who's never ordered from Wirefly before, are there any catches to be aware off? Like do they have horrendous penalties for early termination, etc. or do you just pay the standard penalty that AT&T would charge anyways? And how quickly did you get your rebate $$ back?

Wirelessly posted (troydbrown is Chad!)

Wirefly has an early termination fee of its own.

According to BBnews bold is costing att 499 and you get it for 299 after rebate price isn't so bad then att is taking a 200 dollar loss up front

Bold dropped for Rogers by $100 in the first 3 months of it being out. I'd wait it out. Well worth it!

The rebate form on the Premier website says purchase between these dates 11/2/08 and 12/25/08 and you are eligible for the rebate. I wonder if that means the $299 after rebate price will stick that long? I am curious as to when and if the price will come down. And if it does, will the $100 rebate still be good?

Default I think its fairly priced.

Considering i just looked on my premier site for AT&T and the retail they are charging is 999.99. Now that is crazy!!!

Best buy has it for 349.99 with 2 year contract but no rebate.
Also Best Buy is 679.99 retail. Hope the retail price is cheaper in COR stores or I will be out of luck getting this one.

Wow...pricing is crazy on Premier!

$399.99 for hardware only
$399.99 for hardware with new data and voice activation

I did not see anything posted on Premier about a rebate.

The kicker this morning, the Premier site is down!

I checked out the Wirefly site and it does not show any early termination fee charged by them. If you terminate early, you have to pay the standard termination fee charged by the carrier, which is fair. If you think otherwise, please post the link to the part of the site that has a termination fee listed.
