Problems:
1. Not getting a notification when receiving a facebook message but getting when someone comments or post on my wall. Any suggestions on how to fix that.
2. I'm not able to connect to BlackBerry Protect. I choose all d choices you had to made and when click connect, it just stays like that saying "connecting to BlackBerry Protect service". Also any suggestions on how to solve it and make it connect.

Do you have a Blackberry data plan?

Have you resent service books (see the FAQ).

Have you tried a battery pull - with the device on, remove the battery for 30-60 seconds, then put it back in and let the device reboot.

yes but not right now. i tried it when i had it but still didnt work, do i need to have one to connect.

Yes you need one. Without one all you can do is make calls and text.

I had a problem connecting for the first time on WiFi only, I switched to network connection and it worked.

After connecting, you can toggle the 'Only Back Up over Wi-Fi' option to on to conserve data use.

The OP may not have a BB data plan.

BB icon next to WiFi icon usually means they have an active BlackBerry Data Plan. BB Protect did the same thing to me on WiFi, I had to connect via network first to get it to work.

Agreed, worth a try. Besides the OP has ATT and they would have added a BB data plan anyway.

guess if my torch is lost or stolen its gone forever . i am not getting any notifications when i receive messages.

Do you have FB set up to send out mail notifications when you receive a new message? You are not getting notifications from the app or from FB itself? During Setup,FB app asks you if you wish to receive messages and notofications. I would try setup again.

From the FB app. Done that, uninstall and installed back still not getting any notification when anyone sends me a message but I do get notifications when someone comments.

All I can suggest is going to BlackBerry Knowledge Base and looking at the two articles below. If they do not work, then it may be a setting in your actual FaceBook account.
