The real question is why should I do pre order when the orders ship on July 12 when I can walk over to the store on July 12 and presumably pick one up?

Do watcha want. I'm getting mine from a store too. There's 4-5 verizons in my area that are no more than 20 min from eachother so it shouldn't be an issue for me I don't think.

Yeah, I would go to a store too but I will be out of town and so I ordered it from the web. Presumably they will be shipped to arrive on the 13th but we shall see. I bought the storm on the first day and the line at the stores was huge. It could be like that again for the Tour so I would arrive early.

I am going to be looking at that before I actually buy it

No, but it's just one of those feature that come in handy when I'm driving threw downtown Tampa at 10 pm - 3 am Rarely.. but it happens

BB Maps is nice but it has it's flaws, and I just refuse to the pay the extra since I pay over 200 a month as it is :(

I went to the Alltel Store today cause my trackball died on my 8830 and she was telling me they're having the grand opening for the Verizon store saturday and sunday customers will be able to purchase phones. I told her I wanted to upgrade to the Storm but she was like don't do it. They got a new BB coming out but she couldn't tell me the name of it. Well I guess this is it. It looks like it has everything that the 8830 didn't have. If you guys had the option to get the Storm or the Tour which one would you get?

I have had the option to get the Storm for 10 months - I'm holding out for the Tour. The 8830 to 9630 should be a seamless upgrade considering their similarities.

I strongly agree with you. Enjoy the greater memeory and faster processer as well as access to certain 3rd party program for the 4.6+ group

I am trying to get my hands on one as soon as possible...my company is in the process of converting everyone to Verizon with BES on the 8330...being the main IT support, and knowing the Curve line pretty well, I wanna try my hand at the much more appealing 9630.

Most of the evaluation/demo units have already been distributed to enterprise customers. If you haven't already, you may want to ask your account manager to see if they can get you one.
