Default 9100 vs 9800 ?

Please Login to Remove!

I have a blackberry torch. I really like this phone but sometimes it gives me an headache because since its touchscreen, my cheeks always click on "mute" or "on hold" during calls and stuff. I'm not really fond with Touchscreens but since I thought it had the trackpad, it would be an awesome phone.

I love my torch, but there are minor problems that I do not like at all..

I'm really considering of selling it and buying a 9100 because I have stuck with my pearl 8120 for the longest of time and it gave me no problem. I miss the size of it. But I'm sure the screen will be a problem if I do get a 9100 3G.

What do you guys think? Any suggestions? Please let me know! I'm really stuck on this decision....

Thanks!!

Why would the screen be a problem on the 9100?
Its not a touchscreen, so no accidental hitting it.

I use both... and like both. The only issue with the 9100 is the ease of typing. If you were happy with the 8120, then I guess you won't have any issues with the 9100. Feature rich and compact... for moderate typing.

Good luck

I love suretype devices. I plan on obtaining a 9100 as a back up and for when I want something a bit more compact

HAD the Torch, HAVE the 9100, HAVE the IP4. Enough said!

Like you I had an 8100 forever which for me is saying something, really liked it. Just went back to the 9100 form factor after stints with 9700 + 9800. Much prefer the small form factor, and I find the Suretype kybd much easier to use than both the 9700 and 9800 where I'm constantly tripping over my fingers. Anyone who knows suretype knows to look at the keys, not the screen, and it rocks!

Been running my new 9100 for several days now, loving it. The only complaint I have at this stage is the timy form factor, even smaller than the original 8100. I added one of those hard silicone covers that adds some beef to the grip.
