WHOA! I can't believe I haven't updated in that long. Since the 8700 I've had a Pearl on T-MO, an AT&T Curve (Returned - AT&T network sucks here), a Sprint Treo (Palm OS = no good), an HTC Mogul (I know, don't flame me! I returned it within the month as it was slooooow and buggy) and finally a Sprint Pearl...now being updated to a Curve. Guess I should update that!!!

Well...after about an hour all seems to be running smoothly. Did an ESN swap with Sprint, made a test call, transferred my Pearl's BB messenger contacts to it using backup/restore, and then switched to 4.5. Love the new 'start page' on the browser.
FYI to anyone doing a backup/restore of BB messenger: I chose to backup/restore ONLY my BB messenger contacts. IF you restore from another model's back up (like the Pearl) you will have a glitch (all contacts will be pending instead of automatically moved) if going directly from that to 4.5. Backup the old model's BB messenger and then restore it to the new model WHILE THE NEW ONE STILL HAS THE OS IT CAME WITH. Then, backup the BB messenger contacts database on the new model (that you just restored from the old model), and use THAT database to restore the BB messenger contacts after installing 4.5. Confusing? I know...but it seemed to work for me.

HTML email if you have a BIS-Only device... or your BES has been upgraded to 4.1.6.

Are you getting HTML email? If not, resend your service books
Everyone I know who's installed 4.5 has installed DocsToGo, too....

You have to go through Apploader and make sure the box for docs to go is checked, as miune was not by default. Also, make sure you are resending the service books FROM you BIS site.

Got it! Thanks. Also resent service books and doing a battery pull to see if I get HTML viewing.

Hmm..I just noticed I don't have HTML e-mail. Still comes out all coded. I am on BIS and have enabled the HTML Email in the options. Wonder what's wrong. Maybe GMail is screwing up e-mails before they go to the handheld?

Yep...done everything. They just don't show up. Weird.
EDIT: Only GMail doesn't come in right. I just tried an e-mail from my exchange server with a hyperlink and that came into the BB as a link.
EDIT#2: It also came into GMail as a link. So maybe I just had to send the service books again (I did it twice yesterday but who knows) and e-mails from now on should come in right.

Completely delete the gmail service book. Then pull the battery on your BB and reboot and look at your service books again to confirm it is not present. THEN, resend you service books from your BIS.

Also, it will not covert any old emails you already had on your BB, those will still look like they did. It only works on new incoming mail.

Any luck with GPS in the 4.5 betas? The Telus Curve 8330s (maybe all CDMA 8330s??) do not have working GPS except with Telus Navigator ($)... Telus says problem is very widespread and to not worry because 4.5 will fix it so I'm curious if anyone has tried?

I currently have no problems with my Telus 8330 and GPS on the current OS. I have tried a couple of 4.5 betas, but have not left it on the device long enough to test the GPS. Do you have Google Maps installed?
Thanks,
