Default 8310 Camera Application

When in camera, the number to the extreme left is what I assume the number of pictures you can take before memory is full. I do not have an SD card installed. The interesting thing is when I take a picture and delete it, the number still gets smaller. I have taken 10 pictures, but saved none and when I take another, the number keeps getting smaller. Am I assuming incorrectly what that number is?

Thanks,

Interesting. To took another picture, the number count went down by 1. I then sent the pic as an MMS, deleted it, and low an behold, my picture count went back to 31. Is everyone elses 31 without an SD card?

After you take a picture a menu of icons come up in the bottom left giving you the choice of what you want to do. Send it, Save it, delete it...

So no it does not appear to save it automatically. Maybe if you close the application it does, I have not tested that. I always choose to delete them thus far.

The Camera app does automatically save your picture to memory... The SAVE option (folder) in the menu is only to give the pic a custom name.

Unless you specifically tell the app to delete it, correct? Which is what I am doing and the number still got smaller. I just took one and then deleted it. the number went from 31 pre picture to 29 after deleting it. Maybe this is not a pictures remaining counter?

This thread is pretty old, but its the only one adressing my current issue.

I just got my 8320 and - like a kid with a new toy - I was takin pics like crazy.
The numbers started at 200. After 3 days it was at 197.
I didnt store any of those pics and only installed a browser app.

Can anyone shed some light on this counter?

That's why I don't bother with internal memory. Just buy a memory card. That way you can store pic, vids and all of your favorite songs!!

...and you'll have a lot less trouble than those people who have filled their device memory with photos and wonder why their info is getting automatically deleted.

Get a media card.

Yup, I'm getting a memory card! 8GB or 4GB, haven't decided yet.

I realized the counter is actually the amount of pics you can take. it changes according to the Reserved Pics memory and the quality of the pics.
