First off, thanks to all the members with helping novice bb users like myself !


I have my gmail working on my bb. I already set up a filter so my sent messages are not sent back to my phone.

However, when I read an email, it is still listed as unread on my gmail account online and the same goes for my replies; when i reply to an email via my phone, its updated on my account online and is shown as a new message.

im sure theres a way to resolve this...any guidance would be appreciated!

I think you can change the setting under email reconciliation and set it to mailbox and handheld. atleast for the curve you can.

Well, i only have "mailbox wins" and handheld wins"

and the current setting is mailbox wins.

should i switch it to handheld wins? is this the issue?

Its annoying i would have to come and go through my emails that I have already read to mark them as read...

Would be great to get an idea on how to fix this...

The real only way is to use IMAP. It works great however there is a bit of a delay. If you don't require your email the instant you receive it I suggest doing it that way.

so this is like this by default?

what is "handset wins, mailbox wins" then?

im sure theres a way to let the mailbox know that a message has been read....
