I am still on 4.3. Is it worth going to 4.5? Can someone post a pic of what HTML E-Mail on a Pearl looks like? Does it change the appearance of the interface at all?
Basically vs a bunch of garble and links in a html email you get text and image place holders.

It's a good idea to keep current with what RIM has to offer for your phone. You'll find the most recent OS for your phone in the stickies above. Just be sure to follow the steps listed in the OS thread.
HTML email is a mixed bag...emails arrive w/out images. As noted above you get text (which retains HTML color/font formatting) and image placeholders. You can then, via a tedious process that requires five of steps, request download of the images so you can see them in the email. 1. While in the email, click BB button to open BB menu; 2. Scroll to "Get Images" on the menu; 3. Click on Get Images, (a privacy warning dialog appears noting that getting images reveals info to the image provider); 4. Scroll choice from No to Yes; 5. Click Yes. Wait while imaged download. There is no way to tell the BB to always get images...you have to do it for each email.
Then...some subset of the images will appear, from one or two to a few more to sometimes none at all for me. Getting images doesn't work reliably yet.
It is nice to see the HTML text color/size/formatting maintained, but when the email contains images that carry text content as well, the experience isn't much better than the non-HTML view.

You can consolidate steps 4 and 5 by pressing "Y."
