And yes, it is an 8830 Curve (4.3) and CDMA.
SMS works fine on mine. I don't have a setting for MMS.

( I am sure you meant 8330 for curve).

1. If we purchase BB Alerts from handango, do we get all subsequent updates for free?

2. Is there a way to change the colour between mailboxes (Gmail and my Outlook email)?

3. Is it possible to make Windows Live Messenger display a particular colour apart from SMS? Currently it's all still red for me.

4. I don't believe BBAlerts is picking up the SMS as I've set it to Purple and it is still always Red. I'm not sure if it's picking up voice mail or Event reminders either. I would be fine if say it picked up all the other events and I could just leave Windows Live Messenger as red haha.

1) Yes

2) No (unless you use filters within BB Alerts, then Yes)

3) No (BB Alerts does not control the LED on other programs)

4) Have you tried the troubleshooting guide on the BB Alerts webpage? BByMel Software

Could you clarify about the filters for the Gmail mailbox?

So then it IS possible? I didn't see this function during my trial.

SMS doesn't work for me either. I'm on a curve 8330... I really miss this application. I've had it for a long time and just upgraded to the curve running on 4.3 and it doesn't work for the sms.... email works fine.

Sorry, my bad. The BB Alerts filters are on FROM addresses and not TO addresses. Sorry for the bum info.

I'm on a Pearl and SMS works but unfortunately voice mail goes to SMS folder and whenever I get voicemail, both lights show (in my case, blue and purple). I was told the next version would handle that. Do some versions have MMS as it was mentioned above? Mine doesn't, and I just got it 2 weeks ago.

ARgh....so this program is pretty crippled for 8330 users. I don't think I'll pick it up if/when the issues get cleared up. Basically all it can do for us right now is change up the colour between ALL email (BES and BIS) and SMS (although SMS stays red).

I wish it could differentiate between BES, BIS and Windows Live Messenger...that's all i want haha.... :(

Any update to the SMS issue for CDMA phones? I miss this application so much and I can't get it to work properly on my phone. The SMS alerts aren't showing up.

You're on the 8320 - it appears it has something to do with the 8330 (CDMA Versions). I tested by sending an sms using another phone....

Default Os 4.5

Just an FYI -

I recently installed OS 4.5 "4.5.0.42 (58) to be specific" and BBAlerts v1.65 works without any issues.

I'm using a Curve 8310 on AT&T.

Once again, it appears that it is a CDMA issue. SO your AT&T phone does not fit in with this problem.

To answer my own question . . . the application permissions must be changed to allow.

Not sure where you are coming from, I did not quote or reply to the CDMA issue. This is an enormous thread about the application in general. This thread is not specifically for the Verizon Curve issues. I was giving information to other members that use this application that might be tempted to go to the OS 4.5 that is available to the GSM users but whom might be held back by thinking bbalerts may not work on that OS.

I apologize, I thought you were making an argument towards what I said about it not working with a Verizon Curve since the past few posts have been about that. Thanks for the update on the os 4.5
