Lightbulb ++Blinkberry...LED multicolored flashlite tweaked settings (amaze your friends)free

Please Login to Remove!

so i think blinkberry is one of the coolest apps for the Blackberry. at first i didn't think much of, until now. i now have a powerful LED flashlite that takes less than a second to turn on from the home screen. Oh and go ahead a pick a color; theres blue, green, red, white, cyan, purple.
i've had the demo for at least 3 months and never used it much until now. This is now one of my top 5 apps. anyways here's step by step on how to use any color and have a quik draw mcgraw uber cool lite.

download this to computer blinkberrydemoe.zip <-blinkberry demo
greentechmobile.com/blinkberry/

install to BlackBerry using desktop software (can't find OTA download sorry)

when you play around with blinkberry it has a LED CYAN flashlite mode
and someother blinking demos. the program is for seeing how much signal strength you have by colors and blinking. kinda boring for me when my pearl is always in my pocket. but as a flashlite, pretty cool.

heres where it gets really cool.
go down to set blink times , now set
enter flash period (ms) 15000
enter flash duration (ms) 15000

then save and go back to the main blinkberry screen
next go down to set signal colors
heres where you set the color by the level of signal strength you have
easiest way to get the color you want (for flashlite purposes) is to
set the all the same color

now when you go back to main screen you will have an LED flashlite (if screen is set to time out at 10 sec, it really works great.

next apply blinkberry demo to the left convenvience key.
anytime you lighty press the left convenvience key,
voila-----the LED flashlite you always wanted.

notes, the flashlite only works in the demo, so when you close app, so does the flashlite.
CYAN and White look very similar, as do Green and Yellow

flashlite works great in a jam. use it to lite your way, find things, uh find more things, and lite your way

yeah lets see how the iPHONE does that...oh wait no third party apps...awww so sad......

let me know how many of you think this was cool.

by the way this is for the demo only. i have no idea what
the full app really does....
yahtzeee

Wow, I followed your directions to the letter and gotta say that is super cool.

Set the convenience keys to activate that program and it's a great flashlight.

Thanks for the info.

Here is the link to it:

not a happy camper. I think that the demo app was cool, so I decided to purchase. 10 bucks no big deal, well it will not work. I get an error message that my IMEI or whatever does not match. I double and triple checked that the numbers where correct. I re installed you name it. Oh, well I emailed the support center for the application. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

What lights up? The LED in the upper right corner? Or the pearl or keyboard?

I notice that the app is listed for the 7xxx series, not the 8100. Maybe that's why the IMEI doesn't match?

I have only been using the demo, as he pointed to in his OP. Has worked fine.

Truth be told I was taking a stab in the dark when downloading and installing since it does say it is only for the 71xx.

I too don't know what the full version does. If the demo keeps working with no time limit, that's it for me.

Oh, basically it controls the signal LED in the upper right corner of the front of the phone.

As a flashlight it is pretty bright.

Sidenote: I am using the original OS, .42

Here is a quickly produced demo video of it in action.

By the way, on the little video demo, it's dark so you may not see what is happening.

I set up the convenience keys to activate BlinkBerry.

So in the video I am pressing the convenience key.

On doing so BlinkBerry goes into "flashlight" mode.

I then press the phone's "end" key [the red phone] to turn off the flashlight and get back to the desktop.

What I read in the site is that the app is really meant to give a constant signal strength by running in the background. To use it as a flashlight you probably have to open it and run it like OP said.

um...the point is using a free demo as a super cool LED flashlite
so you can see your way around in a flash.

once again i have no need for the full app, therefor i never
purchased it. just figured out neat things to do with the demo

Load the vid back up! I'm definitely always trying to use my phone as a flashlight and have found that the screen of the Pearl isn't bright enough to guide my way.
