Default broken back / escape button

Please Login to Remove!

is my button broken or is the OS just super slow?

sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, sometimes it takes 10+ clicks to get it to respond...it certainly doesn't feel broken, it clicks very nicely...

anyone know if it's broken, is there a fix for this?

i have a 7280 running 4.0 OS

has anyone had any experience replacing a non-working esc/back button?

is it easy to do?

No experience with it, however if it is still within warranty once you open the device the warranty would be void.

For broken buttons, you could try reinstalling the Handheld Software. That's what Tech Support will tell you to do. After that, if it still doesn't work, the problem is obviously mechanical and it's gotta be exchanged...

I have replaced the button on a 7290 multiple times with no problems.

Do a search on how to take it apart so you can see how it is done.

You may also want to just take it apart, clean it and put it back together to see if that fixes your issue.

ugh...what? the software is flakey and not the button?!?! wow...that sounds like a major flaw!!

thanks guys, i'll try to reinstall the OS and if that doesn't work then i guess i'll have no choice but to swap the button out for a new one

it was only a matter of time i guess...

well the full wipe and re-install of the OS actually DID help a bit...instead of working 40% of the time before it's working about 75% of the time now...better than nothing!
