Default "Go to newest message" shortcut??

Please Login to Remove!

Hi
Does anyone know if there is a shortcut for the Blackberry Pearl 8100 to take you to your newest email message? Every so often mine does this thing where it takes me to my oldest message (not sure why - must be a combination of keys I press) so I have to use the track ball to get back to the top.

I know 'T' is a newest message shortcut on other models but the Pearl doesn't appear to let you switch off 'Dial from home screen' in the Phone - Options -General options - so this shortcut doesn't work.

Thanks in anticipation

T should work. I would try a battery pull and try again.

Wirelessly posted (8320 Titanium)

But don't do it from the homescreen, do it while in the messages folder.

Hi

Thanks for the post.

However if I do press T, it simply thinks I'm trying to assign '2' to a speed dial because you can't switch off 'Dial from home screen' in order to do single key stroke short cuts - unless I'm really missing something.

yes you do it while in the message screen, not from the homescreen.

Yep - I'm in the message screen that lists all my emails, pressing the 2TY button and it's still asking me if I want to assign '2' to speed dial.

are you holding it down?
when i hold down T is asks to assign speed dial.
when i just press it, it goes to the top.

I just tried on mine because the same thing happens to me sometimes.

While in the message folder:
Pressing "2TY" (not holding down, because that starts dialing my wife's iPhone which is speed dial #2) only steps up one message at a time.

Going on that premis, I pressed the "3UI" key - that goes up one page at a time.

Then I tried the "1ER" key, and that brought me all the way to the top.

This is the original 8100 using OS 4.5
