Default BB 8830 Outlook Sync Issues

Please Login to Remove!

I would appreciate any help. I have a BB 8830 trying to sync with Outlook 2003. I have approx 120000 calender items in outlook. I need to see past appointments. When I tried to sync I got a not enough memory error message. I purchase a Sandisc 4 mg card which seem to be recognized but I still get same not enough memory message. I have cleared the calender in BB and resync but same problem. I would appreciate any help. Thank you

Welcome to the group, dmcassidy!

I hope someone will confirm, but I don't believe calendar data can be stored and accessed on the media card by the blackberry. Only media.

I was afraid of that. I use a drug program to look up medicines which is a memory hog, can programs be placed on the media cards? Are there any alternatives to increase or free up memory? Thanks

I don't think that is possible, their is only a few programs that allow you to access files on the Media Card, but I don't beleive you run programs off the Media Card. (Comes down to a security issue, at that point.)

Correct. You do not run programs from the card. In addition to media, you can save some things to the card for, e.g., attaching to outgoing emails, but you can't modify them from the card.

I'm also guessing that the need to keep 120K cal appointments is what is causing the problem. Do you need those on the BB or do you need to retain the records of them on Outlook?

That's a tough one -- I can certainly understand your logic. I suspect that you're going to have problems between the cal. entries and the pharmaceutical db. If the previous appointments could be converted to a database, that might help -- but even there most of the db programs require the main BB memory.

I think we need some other wisdom here; for the moment I am out of ideas.

dmcassidy, while you can't run applications from the media card, I won't say flat out that a third-party application can't do data read/write to and from the media card. You might do a search on the app name here and on google, etc to see. If you name the application, you may get an answer here.
