I have a TMO unit on the ATT network but I used a foreign OS and it works fine.
All you will need to do is a search on your computer that has the DM software for "vendor.xml" file and delete it. then you will be able to install any 8100 OS

Regards,

Dave

hey guys, got another question for you. Is there anyway to get some new free themes, or even a new background for the pearl? Or can i substitute the background with a picture of my choice? Thanks.

if the browser icon isn't in your menu try resending your service books and see if it shows up then. May need to do a battery pull as well.

If you are on BIS, there will be an option when you log into your BIS account. If you are on BES there should be an option under IT Admin.

BIS is the Blackberry Internet Service which is offered by your provider. BES is the Blackberry enterprise Server which is usually used in corporations.

ok, got everything updated and the browser is working. im curious, is there a way to change how the page is, like so i can scroll over, or can i make it to actually look like a broswer page instead of having to scroll down forever to get to the bottom of pages? or is that just how it is.

You can try using Opera Mini but it still won't display just as it does on the PC. You can scroll down much more quickly using the "0" key as opposed to the trackball.

Opera mini can be downloaded OTA (over the air) or to your desktop for free here. I prefer opera mini over the default browser personally.

ok, thanks, got that all loaded up and i like it a lot more then the BB browswer that comes with it. There is a local map that shows the traffic, and the BB browser would not show it, but Opera shows it fine, so thats good. Now i have loaded google maps, and im having a problem with the menu, it seems that when i push the menu button it only pops up for a second and then hides itself, almost like the phone has it set to where the application takes priority. Is there a setting where i can make the menu stay up so i can actually use it?
