Default Handheld is Locked

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,
I bought a used 8100 from ebay. When I power the phone on it tells me the Handheld is lock. Is there a way to unlocked it without having the unlock code? I have emailed the owner about it, But did get an answer back.

You mean password protected?

If not and you see the message saying the keypad is locked, do exactly what it tells you to do. Press the "green phone" button and "*" at the same time.

you can get it wrong 10 times (or whatever the set amount is) then you can use JL_cmdr to wipe the HS and then reload the OS...

thats about all you can do

hmmm... I thought there was a much simpler way to do it... isn't there like a reset on it or something where you can erase everything and start all over again?

If you do have to do that what you just said, you may want to give him instructions how to do it just in case he is a newbie and doesn't know how to do it.

i dont know how to do it but its all covered in blackberryFAQ...

and there is no such reset button on any BB, what happens is when you get get it wrong 10 time, it wipes the BB and everything is lost (nice security feature when you lose important info)

but that would be my way of getting around it, not sure if you have to use the JL_cmdr, but i know you will need to some how wipe the BB and start over
