Did that with me twice this morning using AT&T browser, I then used the Blackberry browser through my BES and it downloaded. Not sure what that means...

Hmmm...usually when I've seen that message it was a bad file, so I'm not sure how I was able to download it. However, it doesn't do me any good because I'm on a BES and evidently it won't work. I can't get pass the setup notification screen.

Here's a potentially interesting datapoint...
I was able to successfully download the app to my 8800, but sadly, the security settings on my company's BES don't allow keystroke injection, so the app won't work. But since the app did download, maybe it's meaningful that my 8800 is on app version 4.2.1.72.
My wife's 8100 is on a BIS, so presumably she won't have the security issue, but the download gives the COD error/can't unzip error. She's on app version 4.2.0.69.
Can anyone else who is having trouble with the download confirm which app version you've got?

I just downloaded the app over the Blackberry browser without problem. I used this link for OTA: http://bbprofilesota.wheatoncs.com

With the next release (hopefully before the end of the weekend), I'll have included a link to download the Desktop Manager installable version.
There will also be a few bug fixes.
- Better support for profile changes when taking the BlackBerry out of the holster of just after an auto-off/on event.
- Fix for the exception when trying to assign a profile to a calendar event that has not yet been saved.

A number of users have asked their BES administrators to change that security setting with success. Apparently many BES admins didn't even know this was restricted by default.
As for your wife's BB, I should have a new release out this weekend (hopefully), that will also include a Desktop Manager installable version.

I'd love to be able to tell it to not auto-lock between 10pm and 8am, and just hope that if I ever lose it, it'll be during the day.

As soon as you unlock the BB, the profile will switch to the currently active one. As for injecting keystrokes to keep the BB from auto-locking; I don't think that's a good idea, after all, it defeats the purpose of auto-locking, no? Aside from that, thwarting a desired security setting is not something I want to do.

Wirelessly posted (Ooga Booga 8700: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0) BlackBerry8800/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)
Something I found that needs looking at. I am a college student and have my classes in my calendar as recurring events, but when I try to assign the events a custom profile it says that the event must occur in the future. I am assuming this is happening because there are events in the series that have happened in the past, but is there anyway around this? Thanks!

the same here, I can't assign Profile Switching on my recurrent meeting that I already have on my calendar.
