well if i offended u then its ur own personal problem. But most people i know realize that words are just words wiether it be offensive or vulgar they are only given power by the people who interpret them that way. I bet u are also one of those people who believe in good and evil right? lol

Nope, I wasn't offended, I just think you're obnoxious.

So, good luck with that voicemail thing.

Personally, I think grandcentral.com is a better solution. It doesn't have the voice to text but that is a pretty steep cost with simulscribe anyway. Grandcentral was just purchased by google, has a nice blackberry friendly interface and will probably integrate with google talk/email very nicely in the future.

Well that's nice, but I just went to the site and it's in private beta and all I could do is sign up to be notified when it goes public.

I can use simulsays TODAY.....which kinda helps me get visual voicemail... TODAY.;)

I really like the app! Thanks for the heads up.

Couple of issues I have:

1. Would like to use the 'enter' button on my Pearl to make selections. For example: to listen to a voice message I have to highlight the play icon and click the trackball. I would prefer to click enter. Same for selecting a message to view. You have to highlight it and click the trackball.

2. I use the setting on my Pearl which allows for a tone to be heard through the external speaker everytime you push a key. Somehow, the app is interfereing with it sometimes. When I enter the app to check a message, the tone starts coming out of the internal speaker rather than the external speaker. To get it working correctly, I have to back out of the app and start pressing random buttons...eventually it begins working again. This doesn't happen every time, but has happened several times. Maybe 3 out of ten messages.

So far I'm pretty stoked about this app...it's a nice feature to have. I can't believe how tweaked I have my Pearl thanks to some cool apps and BB Forums!

Thanks all!

AF1

I have only installed Simulscribe today, but just playing around with it, I am very, very impressed. I am with AF1, I would never have known about it if not for the BB forum. Thanks for the heads up on this.

1. Go back to your default voicemail by typing the code that they give you (for T-Mobile, it's ##440#<send>....might be different for Cingular/AT&T, but regardless the right code is given to you in your welcome email)
2. Delete the SimulSays application from your BB.
3. Log onto your account on the SimulScribe website and delete the account from the Self Service menu.

I have not noticed it slowing my handheld or causing any appreciable difference in battery usage.
It's actually ##004#...typo

Great program, just not willing to pay the subscription price, and it's sort of useless without the transcription. I'd probably pay for a one-time fee though

Ketchums, I was thinking the same thing. I dont get that many voicemails a month, so either a one time flat fee, or even a per call charge for less than thier 40 a month would be perfect.

This is pretty cool. I don't know how much I like the fact that some third party has all of my voice mails on record and can listen to them though.

Sorry about that. They just changed the policy a couple of days ago when google bought them. Now you need an invitation to join.

What SimulSays has is unique to the BlackBerry in that it is a true native BB application that integrates into your phone. Other services (there are at least two others) just text you or email you that you have a voicemail, without the integration SimulSays offers. I tried it, and now signed up for the transcribing too. Worth the $9.95 a month personally.

So I was using CallWave and liked it fine but I love SimulSays. Having the message right on my handheld is just so darn convenient

I'm loving it. This morning, I was on a call with one person and another call rang in. I let it go to voicemail.

Then, while still on the phone with person #1, I logged into my account online and read the transcribed voicemail message from person #2. That voicemail actually gave me an important piece of information I needed for the call I was on!
