Here's an OTA jad file:

MIDlet-Name: MyAlarm
MIDlet-Version: 2007.06.27
MIDlet-Vendor: RHV
MIDlet-Description: 6 more alarms and MP3 Tones !
MIDlet-Jar-Size: 0
RIM-COD-Module-Dependencies: net_rim_cldc,net_rim_os

Here is a working OTA link from my server, send it to your BB and open in the browser:

My server isn't "mine" so I can't verify that it will always be there -- it's just a freebie web provider. Instead, you can offer it on your own webserver for download, take a read of a blog post of mine to help you out:

configuring apache for mobile browsing « rivviepop phantom

It's really easy and would be best for you to get working, that way you can update the JAD and COD files when you release new versions.

Tried OTA but I'm getting the same error I got using PocketMac install. When I try to start app..."Error starting MyAlarm: Class 'javax.microedition.io.file.FileConnection' not found."

FileConnection is known as JSR-75 (j2me spec/feature) and is not supported on the 8700 device, according to the specs. lhurtado would need to make a new version of the program which doesn't link to this capability...

An Overview of the File Connection Optional Package

(looking at the app, I can't see why you'd need it - maybe he's using it to save the prefs?)

Could be for selecting the ringtones.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0) BlackBerry8100/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/136)

Exactly!
FileConnection is used to select the mp3 or midi file.
I have reports about 8700 running this app. I think they have BB OS 4.2 that support FileConnection

Hi, today I uploaded a new version with a new option called alarm code (thanks BenMarvin for the idea). You need to enter a 10 digit random number to turn the alarm off. Also I add a link to a .jar file, so you dont need Desktop Manager to install it (look in my page if you dont know how to do it...).
