Dear Beta Testers,

Thanks for the influx of emails and others post here. We're still looking for just a "few" more beta testers. At this time we have enough Nextel testers. Should we need more Nextel users we will inform you. We would like to see more carrier devices from:

Verizon , Rogers , Cingular , Telus , AT&T , Bell Mobility, Cincinnati Bell, O2 , T-Mobile ( US & UK) , Telcel , Telefonica Movil , Telstra , TIM (Italy) , Vodafone.

Please remember to return feedback (we included a 5 question survey) - Very simple and fast to complete. This will help tremendously in our endeavors with the development of this application and others soon to come.

Also we like to mention that our next version release of " The Shark Modem" will really include some really cool features that we know you'd love to take advantage of with the use of your Blackberry device. ... Stay Tune!!

Thanks!

The Shark Modem Team

if this will work as a modem without a driver, then Linux support (and other OS's) may be possible..?

We support only Windows 2000 and XP, because we use blackberry USB drivers.
The Blackberry doesn’t provide USB drivers for other operating systems. Hopefully this answers your question.

Dear Beta Testers,

We haven't received responses in regards to whether the Shark Modem allows access to Instant Messengers. (AOL, MSN, ICQ, YAHOO... etc)

We await your responses..

Thanks

Works great on Cingular 7290. So far I have only tested Firefox browser. Will test more over the weekend. It's also much easier to set up than the Blackberry modem driver.

The only big issue is that it's not going to win a speed record. But, that's most likely a RIM network bandwidth throttle.

Great application!

Looks like they're monitoring this pretty closely, but I'll jump in and give you my opinion. I think that a suggestion that you don't connect to the internet through them while also connected through a corporate LAN or your home broadband connection. Pull the ethernet connection before connecting through Sharkmodem.

Dozement,

You're correct! You've been a great support to us thus far!! You're in the first 20 to give feedback, and you will receive your discount as we promised.

Beta Testers,

Please remember to disconnect any active connection (DSL, CABLE MODEM..etc) before attempting to utilize The Shark Modem Application.

Thanks!!
