Angry 8900 after JL Cmdr will NOT install OS

Please Login to Remove!

Hey

Well have been having an issue updating my wifes new 8900 so did the JL Cmdr as recommended, and still the same issue. When I connect it, Loader.exe does the backup, then when it connects to the "ROM" and tries to "Upload RAM Image" the red light comes on and shuts off immediately and then I get an error a few seconds later that it is unable to connect to device.

I have tried this on two separate computers now.

What can I try? Someone else must have experienced this?

Thanks

Ok, you didn't mention if you have windows 7. do you?

if you do, its a problem that has to deal with power management.

go into device manager and then find the root hub(s) that your device is connected to and DISABLE power management! when the RAM image gets uploaded, the device crashed to red light for a couple of reasons... and since you've done it on 2 different computers its probably not a software problem (corrupted ram image or loader.exe problems).. so i conclude that its just a power problem on both computers (due to configuration setting)

let me know of that works.

Unfortunately no it was XP, I tried on Windows 7 Ultimate as well and checked the Power Management tab and nothing is even checked? :(

Same issue on both systems!

Also tried loader /nojvm with no luck.......just starts to connect to device, the red light comes on and goes off again and nothing!

My wife is fuming......

Locate JAVALOADER.EXE on your C: drive

Type

javaloader -u wipe

and see what happens.

(p.s. all my PCs at home and at work are Windows 7 and I don't have any issues wiping or loading the handheld OS)....

Same garbage.....wont install anything, just tries to connect to device and the BB powers off.

This is F* ridiculous ad driving me nuts, I have done OS updates on the last 5 of my devices including my new 9700 without issues like this.

This is the first update to this 2 day old 8900 and wont load anything??

then it is more than likely a device problem. call up Rodgers and hope they can get you one shipped out over the weekend. else, bring it in to the store and see what they can do for you.
