Default 8310 for Sprint relase date?

Please Login to Remove!

Anyone heard anything yet?

I am thinking I will sell my 8320 Curve when the 8310 for Sprint comes out so I can get it. The specs say it will be just like the Curve only actually take video and built in tethering capabilities for your laptop. Can't wait!

Sprints model will most likely be the 8303 or 8330 based on how they have numbered past BB models.

I havnt seen any good information of features or even confirmation that it will be released.

If we assume the features of the CDMA curve will compare to the features of the GSM curve the same way the features of the CDMA Pearl 2 do to the GSM Pearl 2 we can guess that it will have a 2mp camera with video recording, GPS, BT stereo and support the larger microSDHC cards. It may be a world phone devce like the 8830 as well.

The above features are a guess, they may not even carry a curve, but they are a good guess and based on the features of the CDMA pearl 2.

I cant see why they wouldn't release it for CDMA.

Exclamation

Sprint needs to communicate better with existing BB customers. I have been tempted to "jump ship" and go to AT&T to get the 8320. However, I do not want to deal with AT&T service. But if Sprint continues to delay launches of new devices I may need to go.

I like to stay on the bleeding edge of technology - I fear Sprint can't cut it!

No CDMA carrier can stay on the bleeding edge. Except maybe Helio and there are a whole new set of trade offs there.

It is just a fact of life, CDMA versions of new phones take longer to come out since there are fewer potential customers. If you need to have the newest devices do yourself a favor and switch now, it is never going to get better.

"Also, a quick heads up xxx8212; the color of the Pearl on Sprint is amethyst."

I had to do a search to see what amethyst is PURPLE?!?! What's up with the fruity color choice? Hopefully it launches with a more standard color as well.

Depends on who you've been asking I guess. Do you have someone internally that would know more about the roadmap than we've seen?

No offense, but given how little anyone at AT&T knew about the 8310 release date, even AFTER it was released, that really doesn't mean a whole lot.

Sorry.

I thought we would be able to pre-order the 8130 by now?

Anyone know?

Does any one have any updated rumors on the BlackBerry 8330 Curve coming to Sprint? ANY information would be greatly appreciated. I wouldn't even mind if Sprint sent me an upcoming product announcement every once in a while that includes target dates!

It is on the site now. $199.99 with a new 2 year agreement. $499.99 otherwise.

Default Sprint Curve

I sent the question about the Curve to Sprint Customer Service and this is what I got back today in response:

Thank you for contacting Sprint. I will be happy to assist you regarding the phone.

I would like to inform you that Blackberry Curve handset has been going on a pre-launch test. After the pre-launch test is successful, the handsets will be launched in the market. When it will be available in your service area, you will be notified through high profile promotions.

Thank you for using Sprint Online where we do appreciate your business and hope you have a great day!

A few months typically. That doesnt help much because we dont know when it started testing. It is a good sign though.
