Ever since some kind soul signed themselves up to a ringtone service using my number instead of their own, I have a 'Free ringtone' message appear each time I switch on the 7100t.
The ringtone company don't seem to have any control over it and neither does my provider T-Mobile. It appears that the message is now part of the 'firmware' of the system, rather than being received each time I switch it on... The Load/Postpone/Ignore options make no difference either - I just have to Escape back to the menu each time...
Any pointers??

I have read that those messages are stored on the SIM card. You must remove the SIM card (behind the battery) from the Blackberry and put it into some other device that can read a SIM card . Many Mobile phones can read SIM cards and this is probably your best bet for reading your card. Once you have put it in the other device you will have to navigate the device (sorry, I can't help you here) and locate the offending message. Delete the little devil and you should be home free.

Oh yeah, don't delete anything else while you are viewing your card - you could make your BBerry go all woogie .

Genius! Thanks Bacon (is my dog)... An old Nokia showed up the offending message as 'unreadable' - I deleted it and now the SIM is back in the Blackberry, the annoyance is no more!
