Default Email Issues

Please Login to Remove!

Hoping for some insight here. (I’m on TMO) I have several email accounts. 2 with my own server (Different domains) and 2 personal with Comcast. Up until yesterday, I was receiving email on my 8900 from all accounts with no issues. Then I noticed a slowdown/elimination of emails from one of my business accounts.

I’ve resent the service books with success. I sent a few test emails from the account in question to one of the Comcast account and that was successful. But, sending an email from one of the Comcast accounts to my business account was not. i.e. Was not received on the device. Sending was successful though.

This does not appear to be an issue with my account as I’m able to send/receive via Outlook just fine. I’m simply not receiving emails to this one business account on the 8900.

I’ve done a battery pull, powered down/up and as mentioned, resent the service books with success.

Any thoughts?

Try removing the account from your BB via the BIS site and then re-adding it.

Ya I would agree with "jsconyers".. recreating the account on BIS should help the issue.

Thanks for the response. I tried that and there does not appear to be any change. I may need to give it more time though.

But, I was just on the road between meetings. I had checked my email at my desk before I left. Got nothing on the 8900 while I was out, but had 12 emails in my inbox on Outlook upon my return. Hmmm.

hmm.. this is really strange.. I hate to wipe the device.. so I would try one more thing before wiping the device and reloading the OS.

Well, I'm not ready to go that far just yet. Any other suggestions?

Well. This appears to have worked itself out. Emails are coming in now. Might have been a server glitch of some sort. If it happens again, I'll repost.

Thanks for the replies.

don't know if this helps but, when Outlook grabs email from an internet email account like comcast or Yahoo, etc... it takes it off of the server. As I understand it... when Outlook does a send and receive the emails on the Comcast account dissapear from the Comcast server and so will not be retrieved by the BB.

I have dealt with this by disabling the Outlook send and receive so that when at my desk I can do a manual send and receive with outlook but when I'm away from my desk outlook doesn't grab anything so my smartphone is able to get them off the server. the smartphone doesn't delete them off the server when retrieving them but will delete them when you delete from the handset (if you choose to).
