Default Personal Blackbery Service Push question(non-enterprise)

Please Login to Remove!

Is there anyway using blackberry personal and using it with pop3/imap servers to decrease the push time to say every 5 minutes ..so it checks the servers faster than the default 15 minutes? I know if you have an enterprise good news it pushes instantly but I don't have that kind of money lying around, but I was aiming for faster syncing than 15 minutes(which is like the standard speed on all pda/smart phones).

Is there anyway to get around this limit using Personal Blackberry Internet service(non-entriprise) with a currently exisiting pop3/imap server. I've heard that the push from cingular/blackberry address cingular gets is instant push...but wish to use a pre-existing.

I've heard of using hosted exchange..but once again I have my own domain and would perfer to use my email. And avoid the fees(of course).

...oh yes and I can't leave a computer on 24-7 to push using the auto-redirector either.

ps.
Is there anyway to set up a blackberry to have seperate email inboxes dependent on which email address it is receivng from? I understand that the nokia e62/61 (??) has that captibility. Would be fanatastic if blackberry does this but i have this dreadening feeling it doesn't.

Any comment and reponses are most appreciated.

Thanks.

t-1 day ...Oh I so want one of my own!

ditto Dawg, that is about the only way on BIS you will get quicker push to your BB. You can't change the amount of time. No carriers are faster (under normal conditions) than another. For instance, I have a TMo 8700 and a Cingular 8800 both sitting on my desk, both configured BIS with the same exact POP account. Both are set to vibrate on new email, SMS, or PIN. Both have received and emails from my POP account all day long, and both receive with 5 seconds of each other. Yes, you can have separate email inboxes for each account on 8100, 8800, and 8300, but you will still have one combined inbox which you can hide.

I was trying to avoid that forward. To perve the reply to address.

Thanks for the info, JSanders. I wasn't aware of this feature. So it is possible to split them up. But all the new unread is one general one(this would be awesome ...like a dream come true). Or did I mis-understand your response?

Is this all in the manual. I (don't have a bb) was using a 7290 way back when w/my old company..but now I'm praying to get a 8300 tomorrow!!

You can set up the reply address on the BIS site. It will look like it came from the address they sent it to.

Default Just forward to a gmail or yahoo account

If you forward to a gmail or yahoo account you will get the email pushed and you can set the reply to in the BIS control panel. Nobody would be the wiser. The reason i like this is because it allows for spam filtering.

I don't know if it is in the manual. Your new messages will come to each individual mailbox as well as the general one. You can hide the general mail box if you choose.

Hope you enjoy the 8300.

if you set up your email accts to forward to GMAIL, and pop gmail its instant....

set up the reply to email address in your BIS acct screen. works perfectly. and i get true push
