Default Please Help!Difference b/w Desktop Manager and App Installation Package for PC?

Please Login to Remove!

Hey everyone!
I just bought my Blackberry Pearl last week and I only have about 11MB of free space (it actually fluctuates between 8MB - 12MB). I've only installed the Google Maps app, but that is all the space I have. I read a tutorial (http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...ee-memory.html ) that gives tips on how to free some more space by deleting extra information. But it says I have to download the Desktop Manager PLUS an OS Application Package on my PC. What's the difference? I can't find the OS package to download. IT says I need to download it off Verizon, but I only found the Desktop Manager on their site.

Thanks a lot in advance!

The Desktop Manager is used to interface with the device and to load application. You must download and install your Blackberrys Operating system on the PC as well if you wish to load to remove applications.

Does that help?

Here is the link for the latest software for your device. Please note it may be a different carrier but do not worry about that. They are all the same and you will delete the vendor.xml file that locks it to a specific carrier. If you fail to delete the vendor.xml file and this is from a different carrier the Desktop Manager will tell you there is no software to load.

Download, then INSTALL on pc, Delete the vendor.xml file and then use the application loader on the Desktop Manager to add or remove programs.

Good Luck and enjoy!

You have to look very close at the Verizon download site. There are three downloads. One says Desktop Manager, and another says Handheld Software. There is a 3rd one but it's not required for any of this.
