Bad manners to hijack another's thread. Please ask your question in a separate thread.

I have been able to convince my BlackBerry to re-download email messages. I'm on BIS and use an IMAP email account with Apple's MobileMe.

I go to the deleted app on my Mac, in the trash Folder.
Mark the particular email as Unread.
Manually drag it back to my Inbox.
In a couple of seconds it's re-downloaded to my BB.

Something like this takes access to the desktop computer, but it should be do-able on BES. I know a BES Admin can restore two week's worth of email to a device, but I believe it's an all-or-nothing procedure, no room for a single or a couple of emails only. You're going to have to trick the servers at RIM into thinking the deleted email is new.

For a BES/Exchange user, go into Messages and click Menu/Search. Change the Search Type to Remote. Change the Folder to "Deleted Items". Fill in the other search criteria as appropriate for what you're looking for.

It will search your Deleted Items on the Exchange Server and let you pull up messages you deleted from your BB. However, I don't know any way to get any of those messages back out of Deleted Items and into your Inbox or any other folder - other than Forwarding it back to yourself. But, I'm not sure why you'd need to. Once the Search finds it in Deleted Items, you can View it, Reply to it, or Forward, just the same as if it was in your Inbox.

If the user is on BES, you can't repush emails, you can resote the email to his mailfile on his outlook, but you can't repush.
The only option is to delet the users account on the BES, restore the mailfile, the readd the user, but then you will only get the last 7-14 days of emails (dep on the BES setting).

ps. If the item is not in Deleted Items in their server mailbox, then the only way that I know of to get it back is, as you said, a restore from a backup of the Exchange store.

This will work only if the BES is 4.1.5 (I believe) or greater and the device is running OS 4.5 or greater.
