Default BB Web Client -- email stops working every few days

Please Login to Remove!

I have a BES email from work (which works fine). I use the Verizon Web Client for personal email account (I have my own domain name), and it stops working every few days. I'll notice that my emails aren't going through, and then I'll sign on to the web client and see the following message:

Quote:
One or more of your email accounts are not currently working with your BlackBerry email service. Please verify and correct the email account details for the accounts marked with Valid status, by clicking on the icon. This will resume delivery of messages to your BlackBerry handheld.
I'll type in my email settings, and it will come back marked as valid. Email will resume working for several days or so, and then will stop. I'll repeat the process all over and over again.

It is very annoying to have to this screw up every few days. I've called VZW 4 times and talked to their "second level" people, who don't seem to have any ideas. They even deleted and rebuilt my web client account.

Any ideas? Thanks!

Next time it happens tell them (VZW) to escalate to RIM. Do not take NO for an answer.

The last time I called, they gave me some number for RIM and told me to call them if it kept having problems. They contend that RIM, not VZW, is in charge of the UI.

If they gave you a case and/or a rep number (can't remember the number you need) it maybe good advice. Your challenge is to get to second level at RIM.

I called VZW back and was escalated to a high-level tech, who was able to get RIM on the line. The RIM guy's conclusion was that my mail server had 7,000 emails, and that could be causing things to screw up/delay/timeout. I archived some of my mail, and the VZW tech is going to check up with me in a few days. Would this make sense?

Which account has 7K messages? Your VZW BWC account? I don't think it would hold that many???

No, the pop email account that I'm using for the web client had 7K.

Yes, that would make sense. Switch to forwarding if your email accounts allows it, or change your habits if it does not.

Also, VZW BWC account can hold 7,000 messages. The limit on mailbox is what, 25MB? If you keep all messages below 2K size you can make it.
