Default 411 program error

Please Login to Remove!

I'm having difficulties with the highly recommended 411 program from this forum.

Specifically while using my 7510:

Having set my locations, I enter the business near "Work" that I'm searching for, press the scroll wheel, choose Yellow Pages and then the Nextel browser opens. It's now that I recieve the HTTP Erro 500: Internal Server Error message.

Any thoughts/ideas/work-arounds?

Thanks,

John

Just try it again. A 500 error usually means a network error, I get them on tmobile all the time, not positive it's the same on on Nextell, but for me usually trying again in a few minutes works.

Do you get the 500 error everytime? I haven't used the app but it looks like it could be the network settings problem. If you can, choose the BES/MDS settings. 7510 have the tcp stack implemented on the device...

Yes.

If you can, choose the BES/MDS settings.

Where is this located?

7510 have the tcp stack implemented on the device...

What is this, and what does it do?

Again I haven't used the program but there maybe a "network" setup that you need to do. So in the case there is a network setup choose the BES/MDS setting.

The tcp/ip stack is implemented in the OS. Other blackberries ( not 4.0 ) use the WAP stack to implement the http protocol.

Hope I don't hijack the thread too much, but...

For some reason we don't have MDS enabled. So, WAP browser only for me. I have WAP selected as the default browser in options. However, 411 insists on trying to use MDS.

I don't see an option within the app itself to change. I've changed the only option I can find in the BB itself. I'll work on trying to get MDS activated, but until then, is there anything that can be done?

Ok, it looks like it is an MDS app only then. There is one other solution - IF ITS A JAR/JAD then open up the JAD file and append the WAP gateway info to the http:// string for the network your on. If the app was done correctly that info should be in the JAD.

Actually, it's not an MDS ony app. I know a number of people who have it working with just the standard browser, including myself. It is set to launch the default browser. Perhaps someone more familiar with Blackberry configuration could help here?

Are you using a Nextel BB? I seem to run into a problem when 411 tries to find the information using the NOL browser - which I believe is WAP only.

If I could figure out to make Reqwireless the default browser, perhaps I wouldn't have any problems.
