As I suspected, the new media manager doesn't do anything for devices not running os 4.2 -- "The connected BlackBerry device does not support transferring media files. Verify that the device has BlackBerry Device Software 4.2 or later installed."

I want the new OS.

4.2 isn't out for ANYTHING (except the 8100, which ships with it). And I bet the next devices to get it will be the 8700 and 7130.

Dont hold your breathe on EVER getting v4.2 for the 7520. I am only expecting v4.2 to be available on the 7130 (maybe), 8700 (maybe), 8100, and newer devices. I don't know this for fact, just my assumption.

Is it just me, or does 4.2 DTM re-route download requests from your blackberry through the USB cable?

I've just installed 4 apps on a new blackberry and they didn't download OTA, they appear to have been rerouted through USB to BES..

is this new or was this always in DTM?

I installed 4.2 on two PCs on Friday, did a successful backup and synch on both. Now today one of the PCs gives me this error on sync: Function OpenMsgStore failed. I don't have the other PC available to see if it's still working there.

I did a re-install, still happens.

Any suggestions? Thanks

Still working on my home PC. I get the error msg on my work PC, which is using an Exchange server. Does anyone know how to fix it?

I'm experiencing a few odd issues, I uninstalled this from my PC at home and it left 2 files in a folder which I could not delete ODSTRACE.XML was one of them, even after restarting the PC they still would not delete (haven't tried safe mode yet). I also tried installing at work, we use Windows 2000 and have login profiles upon resstarting the PC and trying to login I got a error message which said "windows cannot copy file \\mxfile43\profiles$\dominic\application data\blackberry desktop\transaction manager\component data\tracelogs to C:\documents and settings\dominic.work\application data\blackberry desktop\transaction manager\component data\tracelogs (after this it said about logging me on with a temporary profile). I have had to uninstall and revert to 4.1 (I'm not using 8100 so at the moment it's not an issue, but will be soon)
