Does anyone know when T-Mobile will release OS 4.1 for the 7105t? Thanks a lot.

As early as tomorrow, and likely next week - most U.S. carriers have been awaiting tomorrow's ruling prior to releasing anything.

Why did Nextel already release 4.1 for the 7520?

Also, what does Rogers care about the ruling in order to release 4.1 as it won't affect them?

Wellllll - not quite. Maybe.

If the judge grants the injunction and "shuts RIM down", and RIM issues the famous (and never seen) workaround, you may have to install the new handheld code on your Rogers device if you travel inside the US. At least that was in one of the articles that I read.

So maybe Rogers is waiting until they find out if they have to issue the workaround code. Just a thought.

Maybe they are not to bright, or they know something that we don't.

I think it effects Rogers more than you think. How many of Rogers customers travel to the US on a regular basis. Once they are in the US they would be subject to using MME as I see it.

Yeah, this may seem like a stupid question but is 4.1 OS and 4.1 Hong Kong verison the same thing. I downloaded the HK verison but it only changed my desktop software, I think. It still says that I have 4.0.2.49. Did I download or installed it wrong?

You should need to delete the vendor.xml file and then run desktop manager, at that point it should tell you that you have a newer version of the handheld software to install.

This is from the thread with all the upgrade info
(http://www.blackberryforums.com/show...dor.xml+delete)

"I Installed 4.x OS from another carrier. It doesn't work!

This is because you will need to delete or rename the VENDOR.XML file located at:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader\VENDOR.XML
First, install BlackBerry OS 4.x but do not run BlackBerry Desktop. Next, delete or rename the VENDOR.XML. Finally, run desktop manager to install."

Ok I did that and I followed others people's instructions and my desktop software says v. 4.1 but on my BB say 4.0.2.49. Is there a seperate system software that I never downloaded?

There are two programs you must install. First, you must install Desktop Manager version 4.1. Then, when you are done with that, you must install the HK CSL 4.1 Handheld OS Software for your particular model, i.e. 7290 series, 7100 series, etc. onto your computer too. They are both available at blackberry.com. Once you have installed the handheld software, then delete the vendor.xml file again as it will reinstall whenever you load new handheld software. Then plug in and run desktop manager and you should be good to go.

Just checking, any rumors yet as to when tmobile will release the new 4.1 now that the lawsuit is 'old news'?

i keep checking the http://www.tmobile.com/bbupgrade with hopes but keep getting dissapointed.

Maybe there is a tmobile employee watching this thread that has some inside scoop!!!!

or not ..

Hmm - not sure what this has to do with the original thread (Thread Hijacking 101), but yes, you have to buy a data package, called the BlackBerry Data Plan, in order to get your e-mail. Or browse the Internet.

This is what i got back from t-mobile support when i asked about the 4.1 for the 710x series.

**************
Thank you for taking the time to contact T-Mobile's Technical Care Group regarding the release of the version 4.1 for the for the 710x Blackberry devices. We understand your concern regarding this.

Bryan, we are aware of the fact that many other carriers have already released the version 4.1 for the for the 710x Blackberry devices. As per T-Mobile's quality policy, we go by several Quality Testing Phases before releasing the new software versions for our products. We thank you for your patience regarding this.

We regret that we are unable to give the estimated timeframe about the release of the version 4.1 for the for the 710x Blackberry devices.

The T-mobile support response seems to have been a conversation killer. Hopefully everybody will get calling in now, and often, so they know there are people out that care and are actually watching.
