Default Unable to detect Memory Card

Please Login to Remove!

hi guys

my laptop and my pc are both unable to detect the memory card on my bold. the card works fine when i attach it to a card reader and i am also able to read the contents of the card through the bold. the bold charges fine on USB and DM 4.7 is also able to detect the phone(i dont have media manager). i have turned on all the options in the memory sections under the options menu. i remember choosing 'dont ask me again' and NO when i was first presented with the option of enabling auto mass storage. after which, i have been unable to revert the setting no matter what i do. tried a battery pull, firmware upgrade. nothing works. even a new memory card does the same. tried formatting the card too.
any ideas guys?

Hopefully you are not one of those users running a recently unbranded device. If you are, do a search for the way to reenable mass storage.

When you attach your phone do you atleast see the computer say that a new device was detected? Also have you checked your USB device options for power management and such?

no...its not unbranded or anything. still vodafone branded. i see that the pc detects the BB and installs the device drivers for it. even DM recongnizes the phone. everything works well except the memory card. i'll try the batch file and see how it goes

Instead of YES for the last setting above, try PROMPT
and then plug in and see if its PROMPTs you to enable mass storage.

You need to run the batch file to enable your mass storage mode. Do a Google search.

Please remove the link you just posted. I could have just posted a link for you, but that is against BBF policies.

Interestingly enough.... I got a referb Bold directly from AT&T for my son that had this problem of not being able to see the USB. Not a case of a phone that was unbranded. This is a fresh referb. Sure enough, the batch file fixed the problem.

I understand the policy about posting the links. But have to say, this phone would have gone back to AT&T without the batch file fix. My son is very grateful.
