Default Cingular 4.0.2.49 7100/7290 Code Available

Please Login to Remove!

The 4.0.2.49 firmware is available from Cingular now for the 7100 (and 7290). It's the lastest firmware that's been released so far.

Crap... i just downgraded from 4.x to 3.8x on my 7100G(CINGULAR) for the SOLE purpose of "better voice quality" and "louder Bluetooth headset volume" ...

Where/how can I download the newest 4.0.2.49, and do you think it improved upon the sound quality ???

EDIT: Okay, well I found the download link

https://www.blackberry.com/SoftwareD...ient=Rc4cZBaBN

Still wondering if it improved the quality of sound using Bluetooth headsets.

I use the Motorola HS850 and it's always been EXTREMELY soft (volume wise). I heard that downgrading to version 3.8 of the firmware fixes this(yet to test it yet).

Can someone facing the same problem with their current firmware please try upgrading to this version 4.0.2.49 and let me know if the volume problem changes?

unlike TMO, they do publish the release notes (what's fixed and what's known). unfortunately (and not saying its not fixed), bluetooth issues are not listed in either category.

just wait a week or two and TMO will have their new code out. will probably be the same version number, if i'm not mistaken, but they might have a newer one.

scooby, did you not upgrade to 4.0.2.32 from TMO a few months ago?

Done. And moved to the more general RIM software section as it doesn't apply to just the 7100 series.

Some things seem faster, but scrolling through email is now noticably SLOWER and JERKY. Anybody notice that.

On the plus side, bluetooth volume is better and so is the speakerphone volume.

TMo is upgrading their system this weekend - I suspect new software will be available early next week. Hang tight...

If the enterprise activation needs to happen again, do the BES admins need to do anything, or will it happen automagically?

enterprise activation - if you leave your device you will find after a while (maybe an hour or two) it should be ok.

I uploaded the update and noticed that the BK volume seems to be louder, When accepting the bk device it asks if you want to be reminded of this again, the assumption is, safe or not, that from that point forward it will automatically accept the device. the volume uptick is the significant adjustment for me.
it wiped out all of my crappy themes of course. will report again later..

doesnt seem to be worth the upgrade if i have to bother the admins again to go through enterprise activation...

**Wisespent
you cant just leave your bb and it will be fine.. you have to go through activation which requires the BES admins to give you a one time activation password...

I just downloaded the software. Volume seems a bit louder on my Motorola Car Kit. However, it is still lower than the "prompts" generated by the carkit.

Download went smoothly.

Mine required no reset on the admin side.
