Anybody know if Yak-On supports vibrate/sound alerts for incoming IMs? I'm playing with the trial and can't find a way to enable any, but it IS late...

I'm looking for an IM client that will alert me when an IM comes in while the BB is in my pocket or elsewhere.. but not buzz at me repeatedly while receiving IMs in an active conversation.

You have to go to the phone profiles menu, and set the notification for the YakOn, just like you would for any other event, such as phone, messages, and level 1 messages.

Perfection... for what it's worth, I tried trials of WebMessenger mobile IM and IM+, and they both flamed out in comparison to quaint little Yak-On and it's $19.95 price tag.

Anyone know if Yak-on supports the new yahoo/MSN crossover?

i.e. should my Yahoo contacts show up when I sign into the MSN client with yak-on as they do with my MSN beta?

Currently I can only see a list of my "co-workers" no other contacts, online or offline, yahoo or MSN, appear.

I am new to Yak-on, so maybe I missed something. It does look nice though.

...particularly the affordable price tag.

I am having the same issue - the program is not connecting or getting out to any servers. Yak-On support is working with me to try and resolve the issue. I'll let you know what I come up with. Just for FYI:

8700c on Cingular, BIS with TCP working (SSH, Ramble, working fine).

Download Yak On! to try out the new features.

New features:

* ICQ support
* Local alias for buddies in your buddy list, aliases are stored on your BlackBerry
* Email conversation histories from within Yak On! to any email address. This feature includes address book integration. Your contact names are loaded into a list field and when you choose one, the email to: address is populated with their email address. If they have more than one, you can choose.
* Several MSN bug fixes
* Several bug fixes related to OS 4.1

Expired trial licenses have been reset, everyone can download version 1.10 and try out the new features.

Brian from Yak On!'s Support replied within like 20 mins of me sending that message from his Blackberry. He says there is a known issue with the 8100, and they have a beta out to fix it. I would suggest emailing [email address].

GREAT service from Yak On! I do believe I will be purchasing this Client in a few days

I've tried it after reading, I like Yak On a lot. Just no privacy setting though (settings from AIM don't import to the one on BB) which bugs me.

I have a 8100... When I log on it just brings me to my buddylist and no buddies show up and the AIM icon isnt lit up (although the world thing is lit)? Then I get this error after a few minutes... "Could not get license pack from Server, connection error: Unable to open connection"

My APN settings are correct wap.voicestream.com Tmobile said over the phone... What else could be wrong?

Last week I tried all the IM clients on my 8700. Yak On had the best control panel, but it didn't stay connected very well. And it cut my battery life down to nothing, even if I wasn't using the phone or any apps. I ended up using WebMessenger.

The "crashing on pressing yes to popup bug" was fixed in version 1.10.30. I'm using Yak-On on my 8100 right now. It still eats up battery life much quicker than the other third-party AIM programs, but I'll live with it.
