Unlocked Bold 2!
Please Login to Remove!
I'm with AT&T but then it's very expensive compare to Verizon Wireless. I want to switch over to VZW but then I want to have a Bold 2 if I switch over. Is it possible to be with VZW and have a Bold 2? Or do I have to stay with AT&T to use the Bold 2?
If it's possible, will the server and things on the bold 2 work the same? or function the same?
Please give me some advices! Thank you!

Bold 2 = GSM
verizon = CDMA
a bold 2 wont work on verizon. no workaround, no fix, it simply will not work.

Hold on. In what situation are your monthly charges higher on VZW than AT&T? That sounds odd.
The best they have is the Storm 2, if you buy that larger model numbers automatically equals better.

AT&T charges me monthly for the most stupidest and pathetic things ever. Their plans sucks! (just my opinion) It's been proven that AT&T's receiption is NOTHING compare to Verizon Wireless. Verizon Wireless has better deals, it's just that VZW doesn't have any good phones that suits me as much as AT&T!
That's the main reason why I give up with AT&T and finally moving to Verizon Wireless. But VZW doesn't have any phone that suits me as much as AT&T. =/

I've just had the opposite experience in my history, but it's to each his own.
As far as reception is concerned, yes, Verizon will in a given area cover more of the ground, but AT&T will have better indoor coverage, and, being GSM have better phones and, in regards to BlackBerries, be able to email and apps and all that while on a call.
The latter is what switched me. I can be on a call (on speakerphone, obviously) and continue to use my GPS navigation on AT&T. You can't on Verizon. Also, when you're a primary line, you get a new phone at month 16, not 22.

I mean, I looked at the big four in depth. The only ones that I saw have substantially better rates were T-Mobile (now) and Sprint.

If you really want to put a Verizon one on AT&T, you can with their world phones, but not vice-versa.

Honestly, the reception is what gets my attention the most.
I was talking to VZW agent earlier today and their deals are wayy better and cheaper then AT&T. It's just that they don't have the phones that I'm interested in (9700). I'm not interested in the BB Tour! (ha-ha)

No, I understand about the Tour.
It's just when I last looked at rate plans, they were penny-for-penny identical, at least, for family plans. For me, the ability to multi-task and the ability to use it indoors outweighed coverage in the rurals, anyway.

Im not sure what youre talking about. Last time i checked at&t and verizons plans where identical.
@duane534: if youre a primary line with a MRC of 100$ or more (IE 60$ min, $30 Fam txt, 30BB) you will get a upgrade every 12 months, not 16 :D

Exactly. Like a family plan with 1400 mins and 10 #s for free on AT&T is... $89.99 for two phones. On Verizon, it's... the same. LOL... Now, if you have more people you talk to a lot on Verizon, Verizon might be a better bet, but you won't get rollover.
And, I did not know that. Damn, though. MRC for one line being over $100? My new MRC is $33.70. :P

Not quite. It's ATTACHED to a server, as in the server checks your email and pushes them out to your phone instead of your phone constantly checking and getting nothing but losing ten minutes off your battery.

But a tour 2 or switch to tmobile
In the USA: AT&T and T-mobile use one technology (also the standard in Europe). As mentioned these are common GSM world phones.
Verizon and Sprint use an older technology and thus they have to use different phones (they usually can't use World phones)...They use CDMA technology.
You can unlocked a 9700 and easily switch to T-mobile. If you don't like T-mobile; Verizon should be getting the Tour 2 soon (which is a bit larger but basically the same as a 9700 but is based the the CDMA phone technology). I do wish Sprint and Verizon would switch (or transition) to more common world phones. Maybe LTE will do this in the future....hopefully.
Verizon has a VERY good network. It's more consistent, in my opinion, then AT&T but you generally pay a premium for its service.
AT&T? I do agree that considering the money they HAUL in from the IPhone...they do have relatively poor service (and 'OK' reception). Service center hours were extended but when I started with them a few years back they only had phone based customer support until 6pm!! or something. T-mobile has 24/7. AT&T extended the hours to 10pm I think but they do charge almost as much as Verizon with a 'weaker' network. BUT they have that darn jesus phone (iphone) and feel they CAN charge whatever they want 'cause the sheep buy the Iphone.
This is becoming long but I have MANY friends who left Verizon (hoping the Iphone would come to them but it never did) and just NEEDED the Iphone.
Look, I got an Iphone and an Itouch. I don't even use the iphone much anymore 'cause I swap the sim to a blackberry (I just use a Itouch for what the Iphone does). And the AT&T commercials kill me! I sometimes surf while on a call but it is sooo seldom. Both T-mobile and AT&T will let you surf the web (it's a GSM thing) while on a call...but I would bet MOST Americans never do it.
