Ok so I'm back on my other berry. I want this OS off since I still need to keep it as a backup. How do I remove it and go back to 4.2?

Just the same way you put the current OS on. Install the desired OS on your PC, delete vendor.xml, open DM and load the OS on your BB.

...making certain you uninstall your previous higher version OS first from the PC. The App Loader module will always recognize first the highest version available if you have several OSs installed to the PC.

How do I downgrade the OS on my BlackBerry? - BlackBerryFAQ

I was coming back to edit my post because I tried that before I even logged onto here. it didn't work, which is why I made this thread . my next guess is to download and run a jlcmdr, otherwise I think I made a huge mistake.

at least the phone was free.

I promise I didn't break it this time! at least I don't think I did. I put the 4.5.0.37 OS on my 8800 and things don't seem to work properly, so I want to go back to the original OS. I downloaded a fresh copy from T-Mo, ran the application loader and keep getting the same message "no actions needed". I just want the original OS.

And you went into Add/Remove programs on your PC, located the 4.5 OS, and uninstalled it?
