ok, it seems that there is a difference between the manufacture specs and what the carrier will allow.
the blackberry site when using the compare feature shows the following
Wi-Fi: 802.11b/g - used only by 8350i
Dual-band 900/1800 Mhz GSM/GPRS networks - used only by 8350i
Dual-band 800/1900 MHz CDMA2000 1X Ev-DO networks - used by both 8330 & 8350i
and carriers
8330 -
Alaska Communications Systems, Alltel, Amazon.com, Appalachian Wireless, Bell, Bluegrass Cellular, Boost Mobile, Carolina West, Cbeyond, Cellcom, Cellular One (NEPA), Cellular South, CloseCall America, Credo Mobile, Deltacom, Inland Cellular, LetsTalk, Metro PCS, MTS, Nex-Tech Wireless, NTELOS, Pioneer Cellular, PTCI, SaskTel, Sprint, TBayTel, TELUS, U.S. Cellular, Verizon Partners Solutions, Verizon Wireless, Virgin Mobile, Wirefly
8350i -
LetsTalk, SouthernLINC Wireless, Sprint, TELUS
i guess my hang up is the 8330 does not have wifi or tethering capabability.
i dont want a contract but i do want fast service.
do i need to consider a contract to get what i want?
