Mobile Banking sites?
Please Login to Remove!
Does anyone bank from their Blackberry?
If so, isn't it a shame that banks do not offer custom software that you can just install on your blackberry that can establish a secure connection between bank and the handset, then allowing you to check balances, transfer funds, etc..
Otherwise, I assume some banks would have mobile sites, but I am concerned about security since the data is going through BIS and may be tapped somewhere?

I have been using Bank of America mobile for bb and the regular mobile site through opera mini.
No issues thus far.

I use Wells Fargo's mobile banking site. It works great. It's an encrypted connection (https) just like on the PC.

It is safer to bank from your BlackBerry than a home or work PC. Also any bank that offers banking online also encrypts the data on both ends using SSL.
So to answer the question, totally safe, many banks do offer mobile sites as well as mobile software.

I am able to do banking with Washington Mutual, BofA, and USAA. Many credit card sites also work like Chase, AMEX. Chase also works for banking I think.
The only one I can't do is Citibank. They only support AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint for their mobile services. And their main website requires IE 6.0 or higher, Firefox 1.0 or higher, etc. Neither Opera Mini or I think the emulators on the BB work.

My BB's never been a fan of National City's website, sadly. Oh well.

Also I should add that I'm still trying out settings to get it to work. If someone else out there has NC and has gotten it to work, let me know!

When i visit www.chase.com it shows full webpage, not the mobile version (I guess there isn't one).
And for Citibank,
When I visit (what they promote to be their mobile site) CitiMobile it says my browser is not compatible.. I am on AT&T with 8300 with both Blackberry and Pocket IE emulation.

Best to go to the website on a computer and search for their mobile capabilities. Both these require signing up for their services.
For Citibank, try this:
https://web.da-us.citibank.com/cgi-b...seBVCookie=yes
For Chase, they don't really have access, just text message information of your balance, history, etc.

I came to that same conclusion -- banking from the BB is safer than banking from most people's PCs. You can't get password-stealing trojans or keystroke loggers on the BlackBerry. Only thing, with Wells Fargo you can't do bill pay. You can view accounts and transfer funds. I really wish they had bill bay by mobile also.

Verizon has a mobile banking app for the BlackBerry, but it works with certain banks only.

Not yet, anyway. As the popularity of this device grows, who knows what will happen.

I'm in need for Sovereign Bank to get a better mobile site up and running for blackberry users. The only thing it has now is a WAP site that offers their stock price and a search option for branches and ATM's (which never seems to work).
I guess I'll just have to wait until they upgrade....
